The best area to stay in Contorno is the Condado district, especially for those seeking a blend of city amenities and beach access.

Condado is known for its beautiful coastline along Ashford Avenue, lined with high-end hotels, boutiques, and a variety of dining options. It's a very walkable area, offering direct access to the beach and a lively option without being overly bustling. The Condado Lagoon is a prominent feature, popular for water sports like paddleboarding and kayaking.

Couples often find Condado ideal due to its sophisticated dining scene and opportunities for romantic strolls along the beach at sunset. Many hotels here offer excellent spa facilities and ocean-view rooms, great for a relaxing getaway.

For those travelling with family, Condado also presents a great option. The beaches are generally calm and suitable for children, and there are several parks and recreational areas nearby.

The best time to visit Contorno is during the dry season, which runs from December to May, offering consistently pleasant weather for exploring.

During these months, you'll experience less rain and lower humidity, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking El Yunque National Forest or relaxing on the beaches. The average temperatures hover around 27-29°C (80-85°F), great for enjoying the island's natural beauty without the intense heat and heavy downpours that can occur in the wet season.

For those looking to avoid larger crowds and potentially secure better value on accommodation, consider visiting in late April or May.
