"We enjoyed our one night stay for my husbands birthday. We had a really enjoyable time in the spa and my husband would fully recommend the hot stone back massage by Meg. Our evening meals were beautiful and we enjoyed breakfast too. Bar staff, spa staff and reception staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. "We had a fantastic stay at Charcoal House and couldn't fault anything. The house itself is clean and comfortable and luxurious - it was perfect for our family of 6. We enjoyed coffees on the balcony and dinner in the garden! It is in a peaceful location perfectly located to explore Coniston and the South Lakes. We particularly enjoyed making the most of the recommendations and walks straight from the house - the one straight up the hill was ideal for us and a young family. The host, Simon, was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. He ensured we had all the details we needed for our stay and he provided additional recommendations during our stay too (great walks and also a fantastic local bakery and ice cream shop we'd also recommend). It was a perfect stay for us. We are already trying to plan when we can stay again next year in the hope we can stay longer!"

"Parking was excellent. However when we got into our superior double room, the dual aspect views were fantastic but some of the issues we found were a bit upsetting as we spent £175 for 1 night. There was mould on 1 of the walls by the wardrobe, there was wood chipped off bedside table by side window and 1 of the lamps by the tv didnt even have a light bulb in it."

"We had a great stay with extended family in this immaculate property over Easter. The place was phenomenal, beautifully presented, with bags of character. The garden was lovely, and the sitting room was super cosy with the open fire. Lots of games for the kids, too. We'd love to stay here again, it was a real find!"

"Rooms are a decent size and good facilities. Bar is great with a good selection of beers and spirits. The food is fantastic! I have a dietary requirement and they catered for me and were very knowledgeable of the ingredients in the meals. Thoroughly recommend staying here. "
