"Lovely hotel but very steep stairs and no lift, especially if you have mobility issues. No rooms on ground floor and only double room on second floor. Breakfast was lovely. Just wish hotels would think to put sockets beside the bed rather than on the opposite side of the room. Nice room with lovely views of the hills. "

The property was extremely clean and comfortable, parking was easy, the hosts have been very thoughtful about guest needs. It looks great in the photos, and the real life experience matches it. Communication was prompt and clear. We would happily return to this property the next time we are in Inverness. "

"The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. The common areas feel historic but comfortable and well kept. The rooms are mostly updated but if you want a historic feel, be sure to request it. Pretty much all the rooms are a little different. There’s a lovely walled garden onsite and I got selfies with the Highland cows in the neighboring field. Just know that if you don’t have a car, it’s about a £12-14 cab ride from town. "

"Such a gem this lovely property so close to Inverness. Paul was a wonderfully gracious and helpful host amd the house was just tremendous. A currated collection of art works, furniture and collectibles made each room its own unique experience. The hot tub was a wonderful addition - one not easily found in the area. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself or a small army - we were so grateful to have so many resources at our fingertips. "

"Located as it is, Ballagan may not be suitable for small children, but for us as a party of 3 adults it was perfect. Clean and comfortable, well equipped and welcoming. We had expected it to be cold in Scotland in October, but were pleasantly surprised, so didn’t have to use the heating much at all, but when we did it warmed up quickly. Located within a very short distance of the Clava Cairns and Culloden battlefield, it is ideal for history buffs. Inverness is minutes away. All in all an extremely enjoyable holiday which didn’t break the bank, and certainly didn’t disappoint. Thank you"
