"Lovely stay here. Our room was spotlessly clean and tea and coffee were amply provided. Bed was amazingly comfortable and it was lovely to snuggle into. Our host was welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and cooked a fantastic breakfast. "

"The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up for a day of exploring and visiting attractions. There is lots to see and do in the local area; you can dive underground into some of the local guided cave attractions, ride in vintage cars, trams and trains, or fly through the air in a cable car. Back at The Bear Inn and after a full day out, you can wind down with the delights of a superb and varied menu, all washed down with well kept ale. The Bear Inn is a really old coaching house, steeped in history; lots of small rooms with exposed beams and fireplaces, make for a cozy and comfortable place to stay or just eat out. So, the next time we looking for places to stay in Derbyshire, The Bear Inn is right at the top our list. "

"This lovely cottage was exactly what we wanted: quiet, peaceful and cozy. My daughter particularly enjoyed the connection with nature and ability to walk through the nearby fields filled with grazing sheep (we got permission from neighbors first!). Being on the edge of the Peak District made day trips to nearby attractions easy, although I'll never get used to the speed at which local drivers travel on those narrow roads! Warning, as a true cottage surrounded by nature: there were quite a few spiders in the house (we didn't disturb them and let them do their job of catching flying critters that would actually bother us)."

The views from all the windows were outstanding. The local home owners that we met were very helpful and provided some tips on things that they recommended to do."
