With the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling now comes with more challenges. Cast your eye over these worthwhile tips before hopping on your flight to Buyukada:

• Before locking in your flight, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government websites.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to temporarily lower your mask to verify your identity.
• Instead of handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it straight on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
