"We've been coming to the Lake District since 2021 to do the Wainwrights. So we've chosen 9 locations all over from Gosforth, Cockermouth, Norton etc. I can honestly say that The Duck House is the best self catering property we have experienced, by far. It provides everything that you could possibly want, it is so well equipped and is in a very good location. Parking is no problem, and the Village Shop is a delight and so close."

"A great stay, staff extremely helpful and freindly. We arrived with a 6 week old baby and hotel did everything possible to accomodate us. Breakfast was great, in general very enjoyable. Evening meal was very enjoyable though a little on the expensive side tbh. Overall would highly reccommend."

"Had a fantastic stay at Brandlehow. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views over Derwentwater and direct access to the lake. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing family break. We especially loved spending time in the garden taking in the incredible scenery. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District."

"Plenty of room for 4 adults & an excited Springer spaniel. Great to have a dog friendly garden - not always the case when advertised as such! Lots of walks from the doorstep. Local shop sells delicious cakes to take on walks!"
