"This is a very good hotel well located in the heart of Georgetown, close to all the sites. We did not find it noisy as some have commented. It is a heritage property which has its great charms and also some limitations. The rooms are comfortable with air-conditioning, but quite small. There is a very welcome pool. And the restaurant provides a decent breakfast. There are not many places to sit together as a family in the evenings, as the pool area is locked at 7pm."

"This hotel is in need of renovation, very old. Our air-con was dripping water onto the floor. The wooden floor was sticky. Ants were in our room and we were on the top floor which was level 4. The hotel is near to the night market for food."

"The property has been recently renovated and the bedroom was of a good size and the hotel is within walking distance to the main touristic attractions in Penang. The room in each we stayed was in the left side of the hotel, and at 6.15 am in the morning we would wake up with the prayers at the mosque. Breakfast is continental style - you can order omelettes, scrambled eggs or fried eggs cooked to order, there's tea, coffee and orange juice available, a hot station with Asian style noodles...

"Incredibly unique property that used to be an old herb shop now tastefully refurbished into a boutique hotel. They kept all the old stuff from years past on display, and while it had modern amenities it still maintained that old charm. Highly recommend!"

"Excellent hidden gem of a hotel in the old town. It’s in an old building with wooden floors. The rooms are big and fitted out well. The swimming pool is proportional to the hotel but is good enough to cool off after a sweaty walk round the town. Walking distance from some good restaurants and bars. Helpful staff. There was a mystery bar that played load music till quite late but you get used to it."
