Lovely old building staff very helpful clean bedroom but bathroom was a bit tired, the tile grout was discoloured, toilet roll holder detached and no hook on the door. Drains gurgled when you let water out of the basin radiator made strange noise in the night.

Nicely done rooms and hotel but not as clean as some I’ve been in. The food being served as not of the level of the price paid. The staff were very very lovely and friendly, couldn’t fault them.

The hotel is nicely decorated and very clean. Shower took a long time to warm up but when it did it was fine. The beds ate really comfy. Sunday lunch was lovely and the staff are friendly.

Great place highly recommended
The Wellington is a lovely place in the middle of town, a real wood fire in the middle of the pub and a great menu. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only down fall is the parking but there are plenty of carpacks near to the hotel.

Overall great value for money. Booked a single room. Was at top of building so a few steps. Bathroom was v clean. Only needed it as a place to sleepas was out by 8am. Staff helpful. No complaints from me. Will look at using again in the future.

The bar staff were unsure how to mix drinks taking 5- 10 mins. Coffee bags used to make coffee in a teapot, come on. The 'classic' full breakfast appeated to have been waiting to be served, it wasn't busy,vand you'd have got a better breakfast in a cafe for the same price. The room was fine, just what we wanted for our short stay, and we'll probably stay there again, but they need to up the game, especially with breakfast..

Brecon Visit
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Wellington. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was really warm throughout too! The Classic Breakfast was good and plenty of choice of cereals etc to help yourself to. My only suggestion would be to have normal size cups. Not the huge ones that cools the drinks too quickly! Other than that a really enjoyable stay. Just a pity the Wellington didn't have it's own car park.

We stay here regularly as it is convenient and we can take our dogs. The staff are polite and friendly, the food is pub food and nice enough. The downstairs rooms that we prefer to stay in are tired but the shower definitely makes up for it. I do think it is somewhat over-priced but there is limited accommodation available in Brecon.

Staff were confused about our booking and payment, passed between a couple of staff members on check in; the room was clean and comfortable but a bit tired and needed some TLC. Broken hooks, holes in door and few other bits, didn’t impact stay.

Perfect location
Perfect location and nice hotel … but very noisy at night as our room was at the front of the hotel. Parking was an issue at first but the road outside did clear for us to park our car closer to the entrance.

Never going back !!!
If you go by car, Brecon is not the place to go. Parking is a nightmare. Even though the hotel informs you that there is no onsite parking it doesn’t tell you the the car parks are mostly short stay so you have to keep moving your car around to every 2-4 hours. Not a very relaxing way to have a break, worrying about getting a fixed penalty notice! Parking is free between 6pm - 8am so no chance of a lie in!! This should all be made clear in the hotel’s blurb. We would never of booked it if we’d known. What a waste of money.

The rooms were nor cleaned on a daily basis,no toilet roll,the staff were uncaring about the food after driving for 4 hours on our first night to be told due to only 1 chef no food was being served even though a lady in front of me at the bar was served food.When asked what are we supposed to do we were told'there is a takeaway in the town'. the following night we were told that there was No meat at all. poor service,poor food,poor cleanliness . we stay in Brecon every year but will not be returning to The Welllington in a rush.
