"Room was nice but the walls are very thin and we were woken up by late night arrivals on both nights who has some drinks in them. Staff were lovely and breakfast was great. A little annoyed that we payed £10 in order to use the hotel car park but only managed to once in the entire trip as the car park was always over full."

"Lovely decor, had a mix of modern and rustic which was lovely and some of the stone wall original features. It had everything you need, was warm and comfy. Beds were comfy and the shower was really good too. Lovely touch leaving little gift for the dogs, and the communication with the host was very good. We would rebook if we return to the area!"

"A lovely apartment right in the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere. The accommodation was spotless, cleaning spray, washing up liquid and cloths were provided.
The bed was lovely and comfortable.
People have mentioned the stairs up to the apartment. They caused us no problem but if people have mobility problems I can understand they might be a problem.
If we return to the area we would stay here again. I am glad I didn’t book somewhere in Windermere, this was five minute walk to the lake. "

We visited the Lakes District for a 4 day vacation and came across this delightful boutique bed and breakfast lodge. We were absolutely delighted with our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room, and the rest of the lodge, were tastefully decorated and cosy. The breakfast was excellent, being continental in style, but very large. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the main part of Bowness-on-Windermere, with multiple cafes and easy walking access to the pier. Parking is...

We spent three nights at St John's lodge and were glad that we had. The establishment is professionally run but with a very homely and friendly feel. It is located within easy walking distance of restaurants and the lake foreshore but is far enough away to ensure a great night's rest.
Real value for money.

Warm comfortable room in lovely hotel that is walking distance from lake. House was where Beatrix Potter took holidays & she eventually bought it for her mother. Love the whimsical touches such as carpets & wallpaper. Easy private parking included. Stairs to rooms on first & second floors but staff help with luggage if needed. Dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant were good.

The bathroom was a little small so if you are of the large persuasion I think you would have difficulties. The hosts were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It helps when you have bucks fiz for breakfast and your breakfast basket is brought to your room at the time you require it. A good choice of food too.

Accommodation was fantastic - location brilliant, tasteful inclusions and the very cleverly themed decors. Parking arrangement was and remains unclear - when we booked showed one space per apartment. Never got an answer. Ended up parking across the road for £21. Wonderful experience but paid parking was a criteria for our accommodation selection.
