"Slightly tired rooms but a lovely pub/restaurant with great staff. Fantastic location just at the top of the high street and only a couple of minutes from the National Trust property. A bit noisy but that’s the price you pay for the location. Recommended!"

"Good location centre of town. Staff all warm and friendly. Food was fantastic, both the meal at night and the full English in the morning we could not fault. The room was the standard size, wow it was so small the door only half opened due to the bed being in the way, would go for a larger one if I’d of known. Carpets everywhere were dated, brown and tired, and need refreshing. "

"Honestly if I could give it more that 5 stars I would! The staff are AMAZING! They really could not of been more accommodating to make our over night stay run smoothly. They were able to give us late check out last minute and it saved us soo much hassle in our trip."

"Generally a nice place to to stay. The evening meal was excellent, but unfortunately that was not the same for breakfast, most definitely the "worst" full english breakfast i have ever had, dont know how they had the audacity to serve it up!!! Will not be returning. "

"We stopped over night and found everyone friendly helpful and the accommodation clean and warm everything we needed. There was large function taking place which I was emailed about beforehand to let me know they had moved my room to be a little bit further away from the noise , howeve r we did not retune till midnight so it did not effect us . 10 out of 10 will recommend and stay again "

"Lovely spacious room and nice breakfast. Accomodation right in the centre of Holmfirth. Take ear plugs though - you are staying over a pub on the main street, so it is going to be noisy, but I had my ear plugs with me and didn't hear much at all. "

"A nice stay but could have been excellent with a bit more attention to detail. Could have done with a vacuum. Shower gel hasn’t been replenished and pillows weren’t great (not much to them). Great location for bars, restaurants and shops. Easy online check in with key codes entry (can’t generally get in early as it’s unmanned and doors don’t release until 3pm) - guy cleaning did let us in at 2:30pm though which was kind and appreciated. Parking is a pain (not owners fault) car park next door...
