Wendy was very helpful and 'very helpful,cooking was lovely,asked for mushy peas not on the menu ,but said we will see what we can do,yes got mushy peas with my steak pie very nice

We stayed at the Malt House because it was a convenient location neary relatives.I feel it was overpriced for what was on offer here.Breakfast was ok,there could be more options.The room was dated,especially the bathroom.It was dfficult for my elderly father to get in the shower over the bath,infact he didn't have the confidence to use it as he felt he might fall.

A good winter's break at the Malt House. Our room was a little small, (it would have been good to have had a bedside cupboard on both sides of the bed). This was more than made up for by the very comfortable bed, good quality bed linen and towels, plenty of hot water and general cleanliness. A full English breakfast (included in the cost) was on offer each morning with good variety of tasty evening meals. Staff were friendly and most accommodating. Thank you.

Thoroughly Recommended!
Amazing pub! Great bar & restaurant with beamed ceilings. The food is excellent as is the beer. Rooms are large and airy with a very comfortable bed. Thoroughly recommended!

The Malt House is lovely and staff so friendly. The room was spotless and bed comfy. They did have a skittles match going on but this was explained on arrival. Food was lovely for our evening meal and breakfast offered a good selection and was very tasty.

Fantastic!
Considering Covid and also a power cut when I arrived the staff managed superbly, the place was very clean and felt well covid proofed! Breakfast was very nice, I will be staying again

Had a one night stay at the Malt House as I had been attending a wedding nearby. The hotel was quiet, room was clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented. There was a selection of fruit, cereals and juice. The full English and toast was prepared while I waited.

Friendly people , good pub food , Clean . Rooms are a little dated or need a freshen up.. Rooms are upstairs and there is an access door for residence, unfortunately I was next to this and people are not considerate late at night or leaving early with door banging.

great place to stay
We arrived and were greeted with a very cheerful and helpful owner. The room was fine and bed comfortable.We ate an evening meal and it was lovely ,tasty and large portion. Breakfast was also great. Nothing was too much trouble and I believe the hostess went above and beyond to make everything perfect for our stay

Friendly welcome, comfortable bed, shower took a bit of convincing to get up and running, breakfast was quite good. We only stayed overnight for a wedding, so cannot give a much more detailed review than that. Would certainly recommend for anyone who was visiting the castle for an event.
