A lovely hotel with very helpful staff, free water and croissants in the foyer. Importantly, especially for older folk, there is a lift.

Super option in the centre of Biarritz. Easy to walk to shops and beach but also quiet. Tasteful decoration interior with attention to details. Excellent breakfast. Staff efficient and friendly.

Great hotel to enjoy Biarritz

Lovely spacious rooms overlooking a private lake teeming with wildlife. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent and the site, overlooking the lake, is a highlight. Breakfast was similarly good with simple choices but all fresh ingredients and typically excellent bread and croissants. The site, a kilometer from the airport, might make you worry about noise but being just to the side of the runway alignment means you are completely unaware of aircraft operations.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded with our room as they weren't full. It was a tremendous experience and we would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were fabulous, there is nothing I can fault about our stay with the exception of the air conditioning. We could not quite get the room cool enough. We swam in the pool and the beach, lunched at the pool restaurant with its incredible view and had dinner in the hotel dining room. Both meals were very good.

We arrived weary & travel-spent from Australia , but were refreshed by the friendly , helpful, professional staff who greeted us by name. Our room was clean & comfortable , & the grounds were a delightful surprise , & a haven on hot days & nights. The lunch menu was varied , regional & had excellent wine options for matching. We loved Hotel Balea. Everything about it is fantastic, staff, location, food, view.

Benoit at the front desk was outstanding, gave us an upgrade for the first two nights to the quieter back rooms of the hotel. Also carried my wife’s suitcase up the stairs. Location is right in the heart of Saint Jean de Luz, surrounded by restaurants only downside is the noise in hotel’s front rooms. We were amazed by this town and wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
