On arrival no staff present had to ring a number on the door and was given a code to insert in a safe and a room key dropped out. After about 20 minutes of serchin for the room i opened the room and was a bad odor; the place is extremely old and reading about its sinister story did not feel confortable in remaining so booked another hotel. When complaining to the booking company apparently they contacted the hotel only to been told that no refund will be issued as we did not compain at reception . They advertise that reception is manned 24/7 and is not true even next morning when dropped key to complain no one was there. Someone should really inspect the property because is not what is advertised I would avoid at any cost

I love the place, it is old and has character. I stayed at the right wing of the building and not the main building so I had wide space and quiet whilst studying. I love that I had my own toilet and bathroom, which can really use an upgrade as the fistures were okd and basic. Im was creeped out and sleepless the first night because the light was flicking on and off and I had no lamp in the room, so I turned on the TV to serve as a night light. So a lamp would be a good addition. Some parts of the place can be dusty too and particles could drop on the bed or table when someone is walking and the floors creek. But then again, the creepiness adds to the charm and character. The place smells good, the kitchen so clean.

We had an issue with the lights turning off in our room every couple of minutes also the fridge froze all of our food and drinks even though we turned it down . As a quiet place to stay it was lovely and very clean and parking was great it was close to town and the bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure

I enjoyed the room because it was quiet, and well-appointed. I was disturbed by the history of the place when it was owned by the Catholic church. I trust that some acts of reconciliation were conducted to undo the sorry past.

I left one night earlier because i was the only one who leave there it a bit scary….the building is old outside but inside room is beautiful,one more-no access to games room,no access to netflix have to sign in into my account to use,no receptionist around to ask about,Hotel located near the big field,easy access to shopping centre and other places if u drive,

Great night spent here, clean & comfortable room and warm with extra pillows and blanket, large TV and bar fridge. Don’t be scared to take a room with shared bathroom-I did and it was perfect. Kitchen is well equipped for all guests to use and walking distance to Mount Panorama

Our only suggestion probably applies to Room 16 and not others. We arrived after dark and it was a bit of an adventure actually finding the room as it's right around the back of the property.

We overnighted here on a road trip from Victoria to Qld and found The Hallows was perfect for our needs. We were given a spacious room with 12 foot ceilings in a very quiet area, with its own small kitchen, a very comfy king-sized bed with quality linens, a large TV and aircon/heating. There were a couple of things that could’ve done with a repair job, and the check-in process wasn’t as easy as it could’ve been, which is why I didn’t give it a 5 star rating in everything. However, overall we would happily stay there again. Just be aware The Hallows is situated on the outskirts of town so you need a car to get anywhere.

The room was adequate but austere. No milk in fridge, no crockery other than 2 cups. Hot water was tepid at best Not good drainage shower floor causing wet areas in front of toilet. No interaction with staff personally. Heating of room was good, sheets clean and bed OK
