This is the best place to stay. My family and I will only stay in this hotel. The owners are wonderful. Also, you must try the Restaurant Les Grottes it is simply delicious.

What A Charming Hotel!
Hotel de Biencourt is a great hotel. The rooms are super nice, clean and comfortable. Each room is named after a French writer. The town is charming and this hotel is right at the center and steps away from the famous castle. The staff are super nice and friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel. Great hotel
A charming hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is very nice and the staff couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend.

You couldn’t ask for a much better location, tucked just a few metres from the historic Chateau of Azay le Rideau. The entire community is easily walkable and there are a number of dining options nearby, from Michelin “Bib Gourmand” to steaks to crepes. The breakfast buffet features all regional products as well, with a list posted so you can get an idea where your eggs, cheese and yogurt came from that morning. (Even the coffee is locally roasted.) A neat touch.

First Class treatment
We loved our stay. The hotel is located directly in the town, literally two minutes to the chateau and a lot of great restaurants. Before we arrived we were asked if we need parking and advised of our options and we were also supplied a comprehensive list of the local restaurants. We received a warm and friendly welcome and the hotel had great safety measures in place to help you feel safe. The room over looked the patio garden and had the surprising addition of a small terrace. The room itself was well appointed with a comfortable bed and good water pressure for the shower. We are breakfast and the choice was excellent and good quality. During checkout our host was keen to see if there was any more they could do for us. We only stayed in the hotel for one night but we’d definitely return!

Charming Hotel, Helpful Hosts, Beautiful Village
The title says it all: this is a wonderfully charming hotel with very helpful hosts in the beautiful village of Azay-le-Rideau steps away from Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau. The hotel is in an old school and the hosts have themed the hotel to match. Take a look at the display case with 19th century school supplies and books. A few amazing restaurants are within a couple of blocks of the hotel, and the hosts are spot-on with their recommendations. Oh, and the breakfast is fantastic. Can't say enough good things about the Hotel de Biencourt in Azay-le-Rideau!

A Gem of a hotel
One of our favorite hotels of the trip. Xavier and Bruno are so kind. Sheets are crisply ironed! Beautiful terrace, breakfast was very above average with fresh pastries, breads, home made local jams and yogurts, fresh cooked eggs. Delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice old hotel in a small French town. Basic room fulfilled our needs but would have liked a kettle to boil water for tea in the room. We stayed here at end of seasons and not much was open in the town with extremely limited restaurants etc.

Dear Anonymous... Thank you for your comment. We are delighted that you enjoyed the hotel. It is true that our "Single or Small Double Room Cozy" meet all needs, since they are small (12 m2 under roof) but are equipped with all modern comforts (bathroom, toilet, TV, Wifi, etc.). For the boilers, it is always available in the breakfast area... with organic tea bags and coffee (as well as fresh water during the summer). About the restaurants, you came across the wrong week. An excellent restaurant usually open was closed due to change of ownership and some others were closed for 1 to 2 weeks of holidays after the peak of the tourist season ... Nevertheless and to avoid this kind of inconvenience, we think, from the next season, to offer our guests meal boards, at least at this time of the year. Looking forward to welcome you again.

The hotel was absolutely lovely. We were only able to spend one night here but hope to return in the future. The hotel had a lovely outdoor space for spending time in the evening. We had a large family group of 8 people and the hotel made us a short notice dinner reservation at a restaurant where we had a delicious meal. The town of Azay-le-Rideau is very charming.

And there is so many to see in the surrounding area (Château d'Azay-le-Rideau less than 100 meters away, Château de l'Islette 3 km away (Château des Amours de Rodin and Claudelle), Balzac Museum 7 km away). Château and garden of Villandry to 11 km, Château and town of Langeais to 11 km, Château of Ussé to 14 km (Château of Sleeping Beauty), etc. Looking forward to welcome you again.

We had a wonderful stay. This is a boutique hotel. It's on a quiet, pedestrian only street. The courtyard garden is spectacular. Roses were in full bloom. The "all local" breakfast was a treat. The hosts were kind and helpful.

Lovingly restored small hotel in Loire Valley
Small, quiet and lovingly restored hotel with a lovely mix of antique and contemporsry furnishings. Well designed bathrooms with excellent plumbing and plush towels. Beds are comfy and rooms decorated in french country. Breakfast excellent with local and organic products. The innkeepers are very accommodating with recommendstions and work hard to make your stay perfect! Lovely courtyard for relaxing with a glass of wine. Great location in the heart of town which is a good base for touring the West Loire Valley.

We enjoyed three lovely days at Hotel Biencourt. It is just steps away from Chateau Azay-le-Rideau, a short bike ride from Chateau L'isletette, and short distances from Chateau Villandry and the fortress of Chinon. We could have filled many more days in this comfortable hotel. Only negative might be the size of the bathroom, but it is well planned and worked for us.

Perfect stop over hotel in a beautiful town
Lovely hotel! We stayed in the family room and had breakfast the next morning in the inner yard. Perfect! We were able to visit the castle next door which was open until 11pm! Do not visit the Italian on the corner of the street, despite a busy place, we felt that they were inflating prices for tourists and offering terrible food in return. The mojito was undrinkable!! We were trying to cater for a 4 year old and wished we had visited the other lovely local restaurants that most likely would have catered for her if we’d asked!!

Hard to beat.
In a pedestrian zone, so even if you have a room facing out onto the street, it's still very quiet. Comfortable clean rooms. Some open out onto an inner courtyard which has tables& chairs AND a fridge. Great place for a quiet glass of wine in the evening. Excellent breakfast, Located only about 100 mts from the chateau. Really, you couldn't ask for more in a tourist hotel.

Wonderful Hotel in a Quiet Village
I absolutely loved this hotel! The owners, Marie-Laure and Patrick, were so welcoming. Patrick's suggestion that we have a picnic at the nearby Château de l'Islette turned out to be one of my favorite stops on our trip in the Loire Valley and Burgundy. The terrace is a perfect place to enjoy some wine, cheese, and pastries in the evening. The hotel is on a pedestrian street in a quiet village. The free parking lot is a short walk from the hotel, but you can drive your car to the door to unload (although we did not need to). There are some restaurants and shops in the village. We arrived on Sunday evening, and luckily, one restaurant was open. The room was very comfortable. I was in a room with a double bed, and there was plenty of room for me and my stuff. Since it was May, the room was cool at night. I'm not sure how it is in the summer, though. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that plans to stay in the area.

Lovely in every way. The tiny town, comfy bed, great shower, darling courtyard, and breakfast all amazing. Patrick helped us with all our questions, gave us a map and suggested a walk around the town. The wine merchant down the street helped us pick a very reasonably priced local wine and the hotel gave us wine glasses to use in the courtyard. Chateau grounds free 5-6 and you can order wine and sit out in the lawn and enjoy. Breakfast all locally sourced and amazing. Parking lot close by and free. Can't say enough good.

The room was modern and well designed. The common areas, courtyard and sitting room, plus the breakfast area were all delightful. The best part was the warmth and helpfulness of the proprietors. Our favorite spot over 2.5 week vacation!

Fantastic hotel with impeccable service
The gentleman who checked us in spoke some English, and was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were much later than we anticipated and he helped us find the hotel, then find parking and help with luggage. Our room was so clean and very comfortable for the 4 of us. The shower was also wonderful. We had the breakfast as dos most of the hotel. We had to wait a brief moment for a table. There were carafes of coffee, hot water and hot milk, plus tea and juice. We had options of croissants, pain au chocolate,bread, jam, 3 kinds of cereal, yogurt, nuts, and oranges. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location for the chateau and lots of restaurants nearby. Best to arrive before 11am or after 5pm to get a parking space in one of the closet car parks. Great team at hotel. But a local bottle of wine pre dinner from shop couple doors from hotel & enjoy in hotel courtyard/garden, hotel will even provide glasses & bottle opener.

Lovely little hotel. I had a room on the first floor (one flight up), which was only hard because of the size of my suitcase. It had been hot that day, so the room was a little warmer than I would have liked it to be, with no A/C, but there was a fan at least. Good and charming facilities, nice breakfast, very nice and helpful staff.

This comfortable small hotel is well placed near the most perfect small chateau on the Loire with good shops selling local produce and some excellent restaurants nearby. Tasty breakfast with lots of choice and very helpful proprietor.

A peaceful base for Loire trips
Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Lovely setting, lovely owner, convenient and moderately priced! Rooms are recently redone in a modern style, while the building retains nods to its past as a school. The breakfast is generous and uses many organic and local products. The owner helped us find a restaurant that could put together a vegetarian meal (not easy in France!). The little village is a treat, and the chateau at the end of the street was one of our favorites of the trip. Stay here; it's a gem.

This is a lovely property located right in the heart of the city. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The front desk could not have been any nicer. We would highly recommend this hotel.It is a little hard to find on a street that is hard to find, so print out a good map.

Enchanting hotel in scenic Loire Valley
Azay le Rideau is a small very scenic village with a chateau and other interesting sites. The hotel was situated close to many very good restaurants and is itself scenic and historic. It was comfortable and welcoming. The owners are a lovely couple who were friendly and extremely helpful in directing us to interesting attractions and delicious restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.
