"Really nice Grade 2 listed former Rectory with a lot of history and character. This hotel sits in its own quiet secluded grounds of around 4 acres (i believe) and is a short walk from the centre of Wem. The hotel was reasonably priced and my stay included a decent breakfast. However, the real strength of this hotel is the excellent staff, who were so pleasant and helpful and always greeted you with a nice smile. It goes without saying that I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area."

Staff are so friendly. We arrived back at our room after a day out to find a card which was handwritten by the lovely hotel manageress & a box of chocolates for my birthday. Very kind indeed. Great location. Car park was a little tricky to find but we got there in the end ! Will definitely stay here again . Nice hotel ."

"Another enjoyable stay at Darwin. The room was spotless and had a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. There’s a honesty bar where you can help yourself to drinks and snacks and pay on departure. The hotel is very close to the town centre where there are lots of eating places to choose from. We parked on the St Julien’s Friars carpark which is reasonable priced and just round the corner from the hotel. Would definitely recommend here."
