Brand new cottage on 3-Mile Lake in the heart of Muskoka
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean, peaceful and spacious lake house.Yet comfy and cozy with the 8 of us. We enjoyed the days at the dock canoeing, and just spending time gazing at the lake ...so peaceful. The evenings on the deck with the fam enjoying some banter, coffee and wine. And also coming inside to a toasty fireplace! Our host, Anna was helpful and informative. A very smooth and detailed process fir check in and throughout!!"
The Great Escape! (Muskoka Lake Cottages #4 WATERFRONT)
6/10 Okay
"This cabin is not as advertised. It is a 2 bedroom with a trundle cot in the living room. The hosts charged us 35 for a propane tank that died after less than 20 minutes of use. Although they replaced it once we spoke up, this seemed pretty sketchy. They also asked to take the trundle bed beneath the cot to give to another cabin on our first evening. We didn’t mind because the sheets on the trundle portion looked like they were still dirty from previous guests. The lake is beautiful, but the boats don’t have appropriate paddles to go with them. The cabin is so close to the adjacent ones that some people in our group were able to hear a baby crying throughout the night. The communication was also lacking prior to our check-in and we were required to bring our own toilet paper beyond one roll and towels for the weekend. Finally, I would also recommend that they invest in dish towels."
"Stayed August 2025 with family of four. We found other reviews to be largely accurate. Cottage was clean, comfy, well stocked (except we never did find an ice cream scoop lol). BBQ worked, lots of activities indoors and outside, good sitting areas, great location albeit on a busy lake. It's a stretch to say it has AC. There's a portable unit in the back hall with maybe a five/six foot hose. It didn't reach let alone cool the south-facing main area. It's probably fine most times of year but something to consider if you happen to be there during a heat dome like we were.Only other quibble is that we had to drive our garbage/recycling to "transfer station" on our last day per guest book. I don't recall seeing that in the ad. Suggest a lockable bin/shed on site for property manager to deal with instead of guests.Steve was a good host. Friendly, responsive and communicative. Check in instructions were clear, no issues with lockbox. Him and the neighbour Sharon gave helpful suggestions for activities in the area which was a nice touch.Waterski show and Splash Island in Bala were highlights. There's also a quaint RC church next door with its own dock. Good beginner spot for rock bass (prayers for something bigger as yet unanswered). Our family had a great time overall and we would expect yours to as well."
"The cottage was beautiful. We stayed for a concert and got a cab to Bala. Worked perfect for us for the night. Lots of space. Didn’t get a chance to spend a lot of time exploring the property but overall was very happy with it! "
