"We stayed at the Pela Mare Hotel for two nights, and it was a wonderful choice. We arrived late for check-in, and the manager, Giorgos, was waiting for us. He showed us to our room and even helped with our heavy luggage. The hotel is located on the hill. Our room had a beautiful sea view, and we spent our evenings on the balcony watching the lights of distant ships moving across the water, as well as the stunning changing colours of the sea and the charming coastal town. There are sandy clean beaches in the area. The hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast each morning. During our stay, we had many questions, and Giorgos kindly gave us useful recommendations about places to visit and even calculated the best time for us to leave for the airport. Giorgos naturally possesses excellent communication and hospitality skills, and it was always a pleasure to see his warm smile. Thank you, Giorgos — we will definitely return to the Pela Mare in the future."

"The resort is beautiful, the staff are very excellent and the food is great. Drinks wise there is a lot of choice however it’s lacking / chargeable for some things I’d expect from a 5 star (baileys / choice of vodka / whisky etc) and one à la carte in 3 days with no drinks included needs considering. The pool area is lovely, bedside service rather than lining up at the bar would be better (I’ve never known this in a 5 star before) The gym and yoga shala are exceptional, this alone makes it worth while if you’re into that. The schedule is excellent and the area is gorgeous. A few small ‘tweaks’ and this would be TRUE 5 star however I want to be clear, a great resort, lovely rooms and worth the money. We would return (hopefully seeing the changes even if it meant the costs increased slightly) "

" We had a really lovely stay at Out of the Blue Hotel in Crete. The location is absolutely wonderful — surrounded by beautiful beaches and stunning views. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade on arrival, which made our stay even better. The reception and restaurant staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly — they really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The only downside, and the reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars, was the limited variety of meat options in the main restaurant. It would have been nice to have a bit more choice, especially towards the end of the season. We were also disappointed that we couldn’t get even one night at the à la carte restaurant, especially since the hotel was nearly closing for the season in late October. When we gave our feedback, the guest relations lady didn’t take it very well and rather bluntly mentioned that no other guests had complained about the limited meat options — we felt this was a bit rude and dismissive. Overall though, it’s a beautiful resort in a fantastic location with great staff. "
