"A fabulous farmhouse on an amazing property. Truly and authentically the real Australian outback. It felt like going back in time, and wildlife watching was awe inspiring. Kangaroos surrounded us as far as the eye could see. Gentle cows and sheep roamed the paddocks, We spent most of our time on the deck, soaking it all in, book in hand, quietly chatting. Evenings were spent around one of 3 dining tables, candles lit, board games out. The nights were cool, the days gradually warmed up, followed by a spectacular sunset and magnificent night skies. Hill End itself is fascinating and historic, the coffee at the grocer was great, the new micro pub absolutely fabulous. Mudgee, an hour away, was great for a day trip to pick up some local wine and cheese. All in all, it was a privilege to ring in the New Year in a place like this. Thanks Anna and Bob - we hope to be back again!"

Thoughtful hosts with cold water, milk, butter and juice available on arrival, as well as lots of bits and pieces in the kitchen that we wouldn't have thought to pack. "We really enjoyed our stay in Kandos at the Fair Haven Cottage. Loved cooking in the cottage style kitchen. Full size fridge and all the amenities you expect at home. We made breakfast both days and sat on the deck overlooking the backyard while the kids kicked the soccer ball around. Home was very clean and comfortable. We will be definitely back next time.
