“Old world elegance and modern amenities”

This is a deeply elegant, old world hotel with every modern amenity imaginable. The concierge desk was most helpful w/ local suggestions and also the planning of day trips away from Venice. The staff was fantastic and very personable, but never overbearing.

“Romantic hotel in fantastic city.”

Exceptionally efficient and polite staff without being obsequious. Hotel is in one of the best positions in Venice and has the most spectacular veranda overlooking the grand canal where breakfast/lunch/evening drinks can be taken. It is within easy walking distance of Saint Mark's square and the Academia/Dusadora areas. Hotel has just undergone a major refurbishment but has undoubtedly maintained its Venetian charm and is immaculate in every way. Quality hotel in one of the finest settings on the planet.

“Perfect location on Grand Canal.”

Elegant but comfortable, reminiscent of the past and not at all blighted by anything high-tech or minimalist. Excellent service from all staff we encountered, friendly, efficient, but not over familiar. Pretty Venetian styled room, only gripe here was in the bathroom - there were very uncomfortable non-slip strips stuck on to the bottom of the bath tub which were rather abrasive which made bathing a little less relaxing!

“Valentines in Venice”

Treat her or him to a few days at the Gritti Palace in Venice. Comfort assured, helpful and attentive staff and a seat on the Grand Canal to watch the venetian water traffic at your leisure, nursing a hot chocolate of course.

“beautiful, cultured and classy hotel”

Hotel Gritti is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in during a lifetime of travel. the staff are superb at all levels and all seem to speak English. Being a top class luxurious hotel it is relatively expensive as are all things in Venice but compared with similar venues good value .

“For a special occassion”

The Hotel Gritti Palace is a wonderful place to stay for a special occassion. Perfectly situated on the Grand Canal, it is less than a 5 minute walk from St Mark's Sq. The staff in the hotel are extremely efficient and polite. The hotel is typically Venetian in decor and very well presented. I would defintiely recommend the Hotel but be prepared to spend some money if you eat/drink in the hotel. As an example, you can order a portion of "chips" on room service (not that you would want to!) for the bargain price of Euro 20.

“Wonderful first class historical Venetian Hotel”

The Gritti Palace Hotel is beautiful but expensive. Drinks on the terrace bar is a wonderful experience with fantastic views. Breakfast very good but currently 30 euros per person. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it was fully booked on Saturday night so presumably is good. Room was lovely but very few have views, we had a view of a gloomy courtyard but we had a good rate so didn't moan, and were hardly in it. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
