“Venice is awesome!”

When I first walked into our basement room I was honestly disappointed, being the most expensive room of our trip by far. It was the smallest, I could touch the ceiling. But then we opened the windows, which had 18' ledges, big enough to sit on, and the water was just a few feet down, and then the first gondolas started going by and the music echoed off the walls, and we are now in lots of other travelers vacation pics! My disappointment evaporated. You just can't stay upset in Venice! Oh and when we had our gondola ride, we went right by the hotel and were able to say "Hey, that's our room!" the location was great, less than 20 minutes to anywhere, including wrong turn time.

“Excellent”

Choose this hotel based on previous reviews. Was not disappointed. Great for a family with 2 teenagers. Central location, very quiet, great to arrive and leave by water taxi as hotel got it's own boat landing. Staff indeed very friendly. Will come back.

“Great hotel for our first visit to Venice”

Hotel Becher was the perfect place for our 6 day stay in Venice.Ideally situated 5 mins fromSan Marco. The hotel was small but very comfortable. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. After booking I read a lot of the reviews and decided it would be nice to have a room overlooking the canal with a balcony. This was no problem at no extra cost. Every evening the singing gondolier would pass by our hotel room and it was lovely watching all the gondolas pass by. The only negative was the size of the breakfast room - very small. This was not a problem as there are lots of lovely campo's with good coffee and pastry shops.

“Hotel Becher 'a little gem'”

We recently came back from a five day stay at the Hotel Becher and had a wonderful time. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived, and were invited to choose which of two rooms we preferred. As in all the Venice hotels the rooms are small but were clean and well presented. The clothes storage is only adequate for a short stay so that didn't bother us. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of coffee and good food. Great location just off the beaten track but so close for all the best sites. The hotel manager and staff were very pleasant and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. Highly recommeneded and would return with out hesitation.

“Great location and excellent service”

This hotel was in a great location. The service was excellent and there were free trips on offer eg water taxi to Murano (not to be missed). Our room was small, but was clean and comfortable. I loved the fabric that lined the walls, instead of wallpaper.

“Highly Recommended Hotel”

Wonderfully located for all the main sights but yet slightly off the track - so away from the crowds. This hotel offers exceptionally good value with lovely rooms (ours certainly was) and very friendly service.

We stayed in a family room for four with our two teenage daughters! As it turned out, the room was large and suited us just fine. The staff were very friendly and assisted us with restaurants, taxis and general information. The location was perfect with a boat taxi dropping us off right at the front door. I would suggest taking a private water taxi from the airport, it was worth the extra cash (not much) It was like having our own private city tour!

“A wonderful place to stay.....”

Hotel Becher is off the beaten path, quiet, and the service was excellant. The rooms are beautifully decorated in the old style, so that you feel you are in "old Venice". A wonderful, reasonably priced, place to stay.

Nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff greeted us with asmile each time we met them. The positioning of the hotel is just about perfect and the highlight was leaving by water taxi from the private landing stage.
