This was a beautiful hotel close to St. Marks Square. It was a little difficult to find at first as it is down one of the little streets, but once you find it and mark where it is, it is in a great location, and close to a lovely square, and eating places. Very quiet, yet a few steps outside the hotel there are gelato shops, glass shops and lots of places to eat. One small downside, when you enter the hotel, there are a lot of quite steep steps up a winding staircase to the rooms, around 50 stairs. This is understandable as in Venice most of the buildings are very tall and high, so rooms tend to be on the upper floors. Beautiful rooms, with glass chandeliers. Very comfortable. The breakfast room is very elegant with huge glass chandeliers, old world furniture, linens and silverware. There is a small balcony off the breakfast room.Great breakfast. This is a true historic Venice hotel, yet with modern amenities. If you want a taste of the Venice of old, elegant and charming, then we would highly recomend this hotel. We loved it and would stay here again.
