A fantastic place to stay. Within walking distance of union square and easy access to cable cars. Staff was friendly and more than willing to answer all my questions. Personal touches included cookies, and popcorn at night. Many pillow options available. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long while. The hotel location can't be beat! Walking distance to restaurants and Union Square if that is your jam. The room is cozy and has a pillow menu! But what really made the experience AMAZING is the great Ms.Alicia of the Clippers Bar located at the lobby of the hotel. She is a firecracker from 4 to 10! She brings so much warmth and happiness to the people that hang around at the bar. Highly recommend!!!

The property is a nice, quaint place. The room is clean and well equipped. There is no AC and while there is a fan, the room feels a little too warm…

Perfect location to stay in San Francisco . Cable cars right outside the door that take you to Fisherman’s Wharf, easy walk to Chinatown and down to Ferry Market. Accommodating and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable but warm (no ac). Large ceiling fan and the window opens. Lots of restaurants and diners close by. Great stay!

The ceiling fan in the room didn't work but I did not bring it to their attention since there was a desk fan in the room. So they must knew there was an issue. The tub did backup once I unplugged the sink. That wasn't a nice site but I got over it. All else was perfect as always. I'll return next year if I attend the RSA conference. Big THANK YOU to the staff for making my week enjoyable.

The hotel is in great condition and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Alicia bartends in the evening and she was wonderful! She makes an effort to get to know you and offers great recommendations of places to see and places to eat. Overall this hotel is in a great location, a walk away from union square shopping.

It was a great hotel! They had a bar and everyday fresh cookies in the lobby! It was right in the middle of San Francisco shops so we were able to walk to almost everything.

Charming and beautiful. Yes it’s a historic building and it’s small and sometimes things look dated but by far it’s been one of the cleanest and comfortable hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was amazing and the location is perfect. A true urban gem for those looking to take in a real and raw experience of San Francisco in a safe and clean environment

I like the feel of this property. The staff is lovely and I feel at home here. They have a small bar and I love gathering there before dinner in the evening. The bartender is fab, very personable. This was not our first time at the Chancellor, and it will not be our last time.

Chancellor Hotel is conveniently located next to Union Square, so it was easy to get around the city as a tourist. Hotel had all the quaint charms of wing in a historic building, with modern amenities. Service and maintenance were also fantastic. For what it’s worth too, their bar had great cocktails!

Hotel is in a great location, good restaurants, and shopping outside the front door. Trolly right outside the door. Fresh cookies, coffee, water available all the time, staff was great, it’s an old classic hotel that is very clean and well kept. I would stay there again for sure!

The location was perfect! It was walkable to many places, and if an Uber had to be taken, unless going to the airport, Ubers were between $7-12 due to location!!

The staff bellboy in evening and morning were great always available to help any way. The day we checked out we were able to leave our luggage and bell boy got us umbrellas as it was raining. Parking was the lowest I shopped around and my car was safe. Transportation the streetcar stops right I front need I say more. Though San Francisco has a homeless issue (who doesn’t) I felt safe in the evening as I did not see homeless on the street hotel was on. Easy to get to public transportation it was the best experience I will definitely be staying here again next time I come to San Francisco. The beds were comfortable loves the antique bathroom heads up if you have nobility issues as if there’s a shower as the tub is tall. Highly highly recommend.

The location is amazing. The staff is lovely, thoughtful, and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The rooms are spotless and lovely. Absolutely loved the hotel and would stay again when I return.
