“Relaxing and convenient, for tourism and business”

Exactly what you would expect from a Rome 4-star hotel - convenient location, friendly staff, enjoyable breakfast! We love the touch of vintage in the interior decorations.

“Graet Hotel - Recommend to anyone”

The room was a little small but standard size for European rooms and the bathroom was larger than expected. The breakfast was wonderful, serving both American and Italian breakfast foods with a large variety. It was a great way to start a long day of walking although the hotel is located only a few blocks from a metro stop and the train station. Staff was superb. Excellent dinner recommendations and reservations were provided for us each night of our stay.

“Very good short break”

Quiet and comfortable hotel in good location. Some slightly aged fixtures and fittings but helpful staff and good breakfast. Most sights in walking distance but very close to good bus routes when the feet need a rest.

“Great hotel”

Its location is ideal for seeing Rome. A 5 minute walk from the main station and within walking distnce of all the main sites. Although the decor is perhaps not what you might expect in a UK hotel you could not fault much else. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of ice tea and biscotti. The rooms (we were in 309) were immaculate and each has a small fish tank! The bathroom was clean and a good size although the shower was not great. Each night the room was turned down and a sweet out on your pillow with the weather forecast for the next day. Each morning a print out sheet of UK news events was posted under the door. Breakfast was typical continental style buffet.

“Great Hotel”

We booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews and were not disappointed. Friendly service and all the nice touches others have mentioned before, such as the weather forecast (accurate!) and the world news page each day. Very nice room and our shower was excellent! Very wide range of breakfast foods, catering for all tastes. Despite some reviews, we found there were plenty of places to eat within easy strolling distance of the hotel, including the Irish Bar just over the road. For those so inclined, there is even a small DESpar supermarket just down the road on Via Nazionale for snacks and lunch all ready made. If travelling in on the Leonardo Express train from the airport (which was simple), when you arrive at Rome's Termini station, pay heed to the suggestion of staying in the station and walking along the platform rather than rushing out the first exit sign you see. You will avoid the steps down, just to drag your case up a long steep cobbled hill as opposed walking along the flat smooth platform!

“Amazingly Friendly staff!”

My brother and I stayed here for a week, and we think it is one of the friendliest hotels we have ever stayed in! The staff are massively helpful and genuinely friendly (not condescending) The hotel is not huge, but it is clean, well decorated and situated in a great shopping area, with easy walking distances to the attractions. The breakfast is superb! We loved our stay at the Britannia, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable pleasant stay in Rome. I'm sure there are grander hotels near-by but I am certain they won't have the personal friendly touch of the Britannia!

“Good value hotel”

A great little hotel close to the Termini (bus terminal). Room decor was a little tired but room was extremely clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

“Very impressed”

The Hotel Britannia is a very comfortable place to stay. The staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious (unusual for Rome), very clean and well maintained. Our room opened out on to a small terrace which would be fab in the summer when the weather is really warm. There is a good selection of hot and cold items for breakfast, bearing in mind that so many different nationalities need to be catered for. The location of the hotel is fine and the area is no problem at all. The area close to Termini station is like any other area around a mainline railway station in a busy city. Not particularly pleasant but the hotel is far enough away from here that you don't have to worry. And you dont have any reason to head back towards Termini station until you are ready to return home. Everything is located in the opposite direction. Rome is not a big city. Everything is easily reached on foot, including the Vatican City (about a 45 minute walk). It's a beautiful place, you can't begin to appreciate the wealth of history and amazing sites in one visit. We will definitely be returning and would have no hesitation in staying at the Hotel Britannia when we do. Highly recommended to others.
