Great locationPosted 06/10/2013
Pros: It is small but efficient hotel offering a personal touch. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Simona who made us feel very welcome.
Location: We found the hotel's location excellent and useful as a base for sightseeing. There are many shops, bars and restaurants in nearby Via Nazionale.
The Britannia Hotel provided a great location in the heart of Rome. It's located in a quiet street, Via Napoli, but in a very convenient position. It is approximately 10 minutes walk from Rome's Termini rail and bus stations and about 5 minutes from Republica metro station. Buses also run along the adjacent Via Nazionale. My wife and I tended to walk to most of the city's attractions, exploring some of the wonderful streets, shops and restaurants while en route. The Colosseum is about 20 minutes walk to the east and the Spanish Steps about 10 minutes walk north.

Great gem of a hotelPosted 05/09/2013
This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Rome, with great and unique rooms, a fantastic breakfast, and excellent service. Our super late check-in was easily accommodated. Five star service all around.

Great Hotel, Fantastic Service.Posted 12/08/2013 on Hotels.com
The Britannia is well situated in Rome. A short walk to the subway and far enough for the train station. It's a 10-15 min walk away for the coliseum and the Spanish steps. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The front desk staff was exceptional and very friendly. The hotel also has a fantastic continental breakfast. We spent 6 nights at the Britannia and we would definitely consider staying there again.

Cons: AC not functioning well on the first night.
Location: Great location.
Great staff welcoming you upon arrival. Reasonable room size and spacious bathroom with free mini bar and coffee in the room along with free wifi. Location is great with the supermarket 5 mins away and not far from all the major attractions, metro and train station by foot.

Central Rome and a great locationPosted 04/08/2013
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Regular eggs, poached eggs
Location: All major attractions are within 15 minutes and a 2 minute walk to the metro
The hotel is nicely located to the Metro and several restaurants within 5 minute walk. The hotel is very clean and our room was outstanding. Marble bathroom, large shower with regular and handheld showers, flat screen TV and a free mini bar with water, juice and beer replenished daily. The bed was comfortable and while we were there we saw new mattresses being put in other rooms. The breakfast had eggs, sausage, bacon and many other choices with great coffee. We were on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet and you can run your air conditioning any time you are in the room which is not like many Rome hotels. It was in the 90's the entire week we were there. A cab ride to Trestavre (bad spelling) is only 10 euros and they have great restaurants and atmosphere with tables on the cobblestone roads or you can take the metro and its a 15 min walk from the metro. I will stay at this hotel again and if you do you will not be disappointed. It is a very nice hotel with a fantastic staff. You can also walk or take the metro to all the major attractions and be there with in 15-20 minutes. Check out Dark Rome tours, they have many tours and all are excellent.

Very nice hotel in RomePosted 11/07/2013
Pros: Clean rooms. Nice location. Extremely pleasant and helpful daytime concierge. Nice breakfast. Very convenient to train station
Cons: The bathroom was very small.
We had a very nice 2 night stay at Britannia Hotel. The day concierge? (I regret that I don't recall her name) was fantastic. She always went above and beyond what might be expected. The hotel is on a side-street, so the traffic is very light, which in Rome is a nice change. The location was near some sights and also not a bad walk to the forum area.

What? Four stars?Posted 01/07/2013 on Hotels.com
Not at all impressed. I have never stayed in a smaller more uncomfortable room at less than half the cost. Could not even get my bag past the front door, and I had to dance around it to get into a very uncomfortable bed.
