Rooms much too small and badly designed. no seating in room ,bathroom just able to move. Climb over the bed to get to the other side

“Satisfaction Plus”

This a jewell in the Melbourne accomodation scene. . The room was small as expected but the design of the fittings etc made it feel much bigger. The lifts are a bit slow but they work OK. The Cafe and Lounge/Bar can be recommended. The location is really good as the free tram and 2 normal tram stops are only about 50m away and the Southern Cross railway station, where the Air Bus terminates, is an easy walk (even with luggage). We will stay there again on our next Melbourne trip Reg & Noni

“The rooms are very tiny, pub next door is too noisy. I would not recomend this Hotel to my friends.”

We have been given room #5. It is probably the tiniest room in this Hotel. Could not sleep at night as could hardly breathe, no fresh air, only aircon. Plus the noise from the pub next door kept us awaike almost all night. We booked the Hotel for 4 nights, the staff shouldn't give the room #5 to people who's staying more than 1 night. We would recomend this Hotel to backpackers, young people staying in the Hotel for 1 - 2 nights as it cheap, clean, in good location.

“Second visit to this hotel.”

Did not expect "five star" conditions in a budget hotel so for the type of hotel it is, it is worthy of recommendation. Clean,quiet, with friendly and helpful staff. Lifts that work, pleasant decor. Only minus was the size of the bathroom, which was minute, and the sliding door into it, which left a gap and did not provide enough privacy. The bed was comfortable and spotlessly clean and although the room was very small, there was plenty of space for clothes, etc. and there was an efficient airconditioner (an important factor during our stay when the weather was hot and humid). Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a clean, conveniently situated place for travellers on a budget and for a short stay, I think the tiny bathroom would be a problem for a stay of more than a few days.

“Good location, small room”

The location was great, but the room (single) was really small. Not exactly a boutique hotel, more like a budget boutique hotel. Stayed at the Vibe Savoy after I left here, and if the rooms are around the same price, I would stay there as the rooms are quite a bit larger. If you need a good place to stay in Melbourne, and the price is right, The Pensionne is a decent enough place to stay - clean, great location and friendly staff.

“Otherthan internet access, everything was reasonable”

If you are planning a budget travel, this hotel is a right choice. Good access from the airport and to the city centre. A huge food court in the crown casino centre locates within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The price for the internet access is relatively expensive and inconvenient.

The room was small but I have no complain as I wasn't planning to be stuck in the room; wanted to explore the city. It's just somewhere to rest my weary feet after a whole day of walking. It was clean and tastefully decorated. Within walking distance to the Spencer Cross Station, Southbanks, Federation Square and everywhere else! I'd stay in this hotel again.
