“Can't wait to go back to Madrid.”
Very good hotel, comfortable and clean room, excellent breakfast. The best customer service. Francisco at the front desk and every body in the hotel made the difference.
“Great location”
The hotel has a fantastic location. It's in a heart of Madrid and within walking distance to Sol, Plaza Mayor, Royal Castle, cathedral, and many other attractions. I did a lot of walking and when I got tired I used the metro. The staff at the hotel was very nice and everyone at the front desk spoke very good English. My room did not have a great view and it was very cold. I turned off the AC as soon as I arrived and didn't turn it back on till the end of my stay (I stayed 3 nights in September) but it never got any warmer. I didn't complain about so I can't comment on the hotel's response but I needed to use an extra blanket at night. Tip: Madrid comes alive after sunset so plan accordingly. People flow into the streets when temperatures become more managable. Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor offer great people watching.
“Good choice”
Prime location - literally couple of blocks from Plaza del Sol. Hotel is renovated. Everything is clean and in good condition. Nice bathroom. Overall a great value. There weer a few minor inconveniences. The hotel is on a quite side street but on weekend nights there are sometimes parties in nearby bars. Then if the room is facing the street you will hear drunk people on the street outside all night long (no closing hours). Also when things break in the room do not expect them to fix it immediately. The beds were a bit on the hard side but perfectly reasonable. Finally no thermostat to control the heating (sometimes too hot in the room), apparently the thermostat is only for the A/C.
“Very good hotel and superb location.”
Very good hotel and superb location.
“Nice hotel great location.”
Great location, great staff. Showers a bit small.
“Great deal”
Great deal, great hotel, good location in the center of sol but on a quiet street. Make sure you're not walking on that street alone at night, though.
“Too hot to move.”
First of all, the room was double twin beds & we reserved a queen bed. We asked to switch rooms & was told that we could not do it until the following day. It was unbearabally hot in our room all day & especially at night, which makes sense considering they do not to turn on their air-conditioners in the hotel until June 1st. The internet that you can rent was down for one of the days we were there. Our room refridgerator also did not work. However, the clerk did allow us to use the front desk computer. The hotel was clean, the staff was pleasant, & it was in a great location for the price. Unfortunately the other issues, stated above, made this a poor experience & I would not recommend this hotel.
“will use again”
on leaving we bookined a room to return to before our flight back to australia
“Great location”
a4 STAR EXPERIENCE IN A GREAT LOCATION, STEPS TO THE PLAZA DEL SOL, BUT ON A QUIET STREET. oNLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE BEDS WERE QUITE HARD.
“Nice hotel, perfect location in Madrid”
We were at this hotel for 8 days in May and found it to be the perfect location for sightseeing in Madrid. The Sol/Seville Metro stops are close, also there are many restaurants/fast food places (even KFC, Burger King, McDonalds) nearby. The El Corte Ingles dept. store is also convenient (it has everything, including a supermarket for food). The rooms are nicely furnished with bright colors (we had a courtyard room at the back, which was very quiet), and are a good size for European hotels. The only drawbacks were the beds, HARD as a rock (but we understand this is pretty basic to all hotels in Madrid), and also, the AC did NOT work well, so we left the window open at night. Loved the SHOWER though! The hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful.
