“Great for long term stays”
This hotel has apartments with a kitchenette in each one. The staff is excellent. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is very comfortable, especially for a long term stay. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby as well as transportation (taxi, bus, metro). It takes about 20 minutes to be downtown near the museums. It is a good value for the money, especially in Madrid.
“Nice value. Convient location. Good staff. location”
Would certainly recommend.
“Good and reasonably priced option”
Hotel was well located to the purpose of my trip, but it is not close to main tourist attractions, although it is one block away from the subway, therefore very easy to get to places. Apartment was spacious and well equipped.
“off the beaten path but near a metro stop”
Internet was included. The kitchen was nicely appointed. Small stores and a couple of nice eating places in the neighborhood. about a 5 minute walk to the metro
“Good value-clean and comfortable”
Galeón was a good value--the apartment was clean and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the kitchenette, which helped us save money on food, and the free internet access. The aparthotel is fairly far from downtown and the tourist attractions, and the neighborhood looked a little sketchy, but we never felt unsafe. I would go there again if I went back to Madrid.
“Nice hotel in a good neighborhood”
Though the hotel north of the center of the city where the major tourist spots are found, it is just a few minutes walk away from a stop on Madrid's important "1" metro line that goes right through the city center, and a twenty minute walk from the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid (conference center). The neighborhood is a little quieter, but is still in the city and has a lot of life and convenient shopping. The hotel itself is on a little side road which is much more peaceful than the big calle. The hotel has marble floors everywhere, including the rooms, which are very cute. The hotel has the feel of an old building that has been updated over the years. Queen beds were actual queen size. The internet is slow, but free. You need to get a new internet code every 24 hrs, which is not terribly convenient. My room had four rooms - bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchenette (sans stove). My Spanish isn't fluent, but all the hotel clerks spoke good English - even on the night shift, which was very convenient.
“Champions League 2010”
Room bigger than we expected, all amenities, incredibly friendly people, one block from metro station, overall it was a great choice
“Economical and pleasant”
Pleasant, small hotel. Not many frills, but very comfortable. It is great to have the kitchenette and separate living and sleeping rooms. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. In a regular neighborhood with grocery stores, pharmacies and close to bus and metro stops. Not in town center, but that is easily accessible.
“Very Clean & Comfortable Hotel”
I enjoyed my stay at the Aparthotel Quo Galeon very much. I was moving to Madrid & needed a long-term place to stay while looking for somewhere to live. Being able to stay in a self-catering apartment was very convenient for me given the length of my stay. For someone travelling for a short trip, who doesn't need cooking facilities or lots of space, or someone who prefers a hotel with lots of amenities like room service, spa, restaurant, etc, they'd be better off at a different type of hotel. Regardless, the room/apartment I had was impeccably clean & very comfortable & had tons of space; would be perfect for a family. The staff was helpful in assisting me with everything I needed & I was very reluctant to go when my stay was up. The hotel is also reasonably priced & it was a great location for me given my apartment search. For someone who wants to be in the center of the city though, it would require a 15-20 metro ride everyday & may not be the most convenient location. Great location for business travellers in the Asca area. One down side, occasionally I could hear a bit of street noise at night, including garbage trucks, but honestly Madrid is a noisy city in general.
“Practical, friendly”
Wi-fi works well and staff is very helpful. I heard them speaking with people in English, German and French as well as Spanish, so it is easy to get directions, suggestions, make requests, etc. Not plush, but very comfortable and clean.
