“Will go back again”

1pm check-in, my daughter and I arrived at 10am, room was not ready, the front desk said they would contact me on my mobile when room was available. My daughter and I looked around the local area while waiting for the call. The call never came, we went back to the hotel to wait at 12:30pm. My daughter who is 10 years old went to the front desk to ask if the room was ready yet. I thought she wast waisting her time because they said they would call me on my mobile. Guess what !......the room had been ready for some time. The food at the hotel was expensive so we ate out and bought supplies at Woolworths which is near-by. The location is great just across the road from the "Q" building hotel. We got public buses to the 3 theme parks and decide Dreamworld was the best by far. Ridley"s Beleve it or not! was great too.

“Average”

Not as 'child friendly' as I would have liked & the food in the restaurant was overpriced. We ate out most days. Also the buffet breakfast was expensive. We also didn't like the fact that we had to pay extra for parking, $8.00 a day which you would automatically assume would be included in the accomodation price. The location was excellent and the staff were friendly.

“The location is very hard to find”

The location is very hard to find and the hotel info on expedia is wrong in so many ways. Actually, there are two "Mercure" hotels in the same block, but this one can never be found if you look for its name shown on Expedia. You must find "Westwater entertainment complex" on lake st. and the hotel is inside the complex building. Except for hotel name, the breakfast of the hotel is not a buffet, though it's nice and big enough. One good thing is the parking is free (expedia says there is surcharge).

“Deluxe room was a pleasure”

On our arrival, a group of chatting hotel staff ignored us and did not help us with our luggage despite also carrying a sleeping baby. One staff member redeemed the hotel, by assisting us eventually in a very polite manner. Apart from this incident, the staff were very helpful. Our hotel room air-con didn't work despite someone being sent to our room to 'fix' the problem. Once we chose to upgrade our room to the 15th floor, we were very very happy with the room and the sea and city view and enjoyed the remainder of our stay. I would highly recommend the deluxe rooms.

“Ok,but nothing that special!!”

Rooms too small. Keycard was deactivated during stay, this also was the case with at least 2 other guests travelling with me. Some of Front desk staff not all that pleasant and helpful. Balconies would make the hotel much more pleasurable to stay.

“this hotel is over rated.”

The hotel is in a very good position close to beach and shop as well as restaurant . The room was nice and pleasant but the fridge was too noisy . You have to pay to watch movies and get access to the internet which is over the top in fees . A separate shower would be nice instead of in the bath as the bathroom cannot be share

“Disappointment after 5 years”

I stayed at The Watermark 5 years ago when it was new. It looked very nice and the service was good. This is why this time was such a disappointment as the furniture looks old, and they only give you 2 towels per room, and charge you for extra ones. The pool area looks very bad too.
