“Can't wait to go back”
I chose this hotel as I was going to the Gold Coast 600 and wanted to be within walking distance of the track. It wasn't too bad, about 15mins or so. The breakfast buffet, room service etc. was excellent, and they cater for food allergies which is great. The standard room was very nice with 2 king size beds, flat screen TV, reasonable size bathroom and mini bar. Reception was great and couldn't do enough to help. The only thing I thought was a bit rich was parking costs but I guess with parking spaces lacking on the coast the hotels have to charge. There were also 2 pool areas, and a day spa... I would definitely stay here again.
“Will go back again”
1pm check-in, my daughter and I arrived at 10am, room was not ready, the front desk said they would contact me on my mobile when room was available. My daughter and I looked around the local area while waiting for the call. The call never came, we went back to the hotel to wait at 12:30pm. My daughter who is 10 years old went to the front desk to ask if the room was ready yet. I thought she wast waisting her time because they said they would call me on my mobile. Guess what !......the room had been ready for some time. The food at the hotel was expensive so we ate out and bought supplies at Woolworths which is near-by. The location is great just across the road from the "Q" building hotel. We got public buses to the 3 theme parks and decide Dreamworld was the best by far. Ridley"s Beleve it or not! was great too.
“would not go back,”
very run down interior furniture and quite old fashion . the people were nice but you need comfort. hope your teams revisit the hotels more often..
“Comfortable”
We opted for a superior room, mainly because it was cost effective as it included breakfast. The room contained 2 double beds which was a little hard to rationalise. One bed with extra room for chairs and table would have been our preferred option. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range on offer and the buffet dinner (cheaper weeknights) was very good value and had a wide range of choices. Secure car parking was available for $8/night in the hotel basement, accessible by elevator.
“Average”
Not as 'child friendly' as I would have liked & the food in the restaurant was overpriced. We ate out most days. Also the buffet breakfast was expensive. We also didn't like the fact that we had to pay extra for parking, $8.00 a day which you would automatically assume would be included in the accomodation price. The location was excellent and the staff were friendly.
“Visiting Oldies in Comfort”
We came up to visit my Mum, Grandma and other family. Staying at the Watermark was great as we were not under anyone's feet waiting for showers etc. The breakfast was great letting us feel that we really were on holiday for the weekend, We were far enough away from the heart of Surfers not to be annoyed by nightlife noise but near enough to join in if we wanted.
“Excellent place to stay with great spa”
Service was excellent. The in-hotel Spa and proximity to the beach make it a really relaxong location. Good food, reasonable food prices and excellent room service.
“not impressed at all”
good location nice staff at the reception, but my room was duty, not happy at all !
“Would recommend but would not return”
The hotel was lovely. On check-in we were bumped up to their Club Watermark section - King bed, ocean view 5 star room - when we had paid for a Superior Room in their 4.5 star section. Pools weren't very big but both had spas which were a nice touch on some of the colder days while we were there. Housekeeping wasn't great, they kept forgetting to replace shampoo etc. which was annoying. Reception and concierge staff were helpful but quite rude, was clear that they were bored/sick of hearing the same questions from tourists which made us feel quite uncomfortable. Great location though, a 2 minute walk to Cavill Ave and all the restaurants. I highly recommend Pancakes in Paradise - absolutely amazing pancakes and really friendly staff. Some negatives though - had to pay to use the safe in the room and you have to hire a DVD player which cost $15 a day. There were some stains on the sheets when we arrived and considering this was the 5 star section that is pretty ridiculous. For some reason the hotel rooms did not have proper curtains, which meant that in the morning you would be woken up at around 7am by sunlight streaming into your room. Positives - the bed was incredibly comfortable. Room had great air-conditioning and heating. There was a pool on either side of the building so when the hotel was blocking the sun on one side you could use the pool on the other which was convenient. Overall, I would recommend the hotel but would not go back there.
“A good place to stay in Surfers Paradise”
The Hotel was what I expected. Right in the heart of Surfers...I have no complaints. Very comfortable and our room was on the 12th floor so we had fantastic views and everything was just a short walk away. The staff were helpfull and polite. If there was one criticism it would be that the tv reception was not that great but then I didn't go there for the tv. I would stay there again.
