“White Rose review”

Pleasant Balinese hotel, friendly staff, nice large pool, decent on suite rooms with a fridge, central location, quiet, family friendly. The only resturant is poolside, food is good, menu a bit limited. Has WiFi but acess can be limited and a $5 per hour block, expensive The superior room is a bit of a let down, means ground floor and may mean you may get a kettle, but not always.

“had a great time.”

I stayed for 9 nights as a single.Had a great time.Only one negative reason not to stay on the third floor is the noise of the of music travels to the third floor from the night clubs near by..could not get to sleep till 5 in the morning. Otherwise I could not complain.the breakfast was fantastic .The staff friendly. The location just right, especialy if u dont mind the bars.

The first night I stayed I was kept awake by a nearby nightclub playing ridiculously loud music. I was going to change hotels however the staff offered a quieter room which over looking the pool. It was much better however it smelt of smoke all the furnishing including the bedding were saturated by the smell. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was beautiful I spent many hours lazing around with a book. Food was average not much to choose from if you lead a vegetarian life. I'd recommend going to Zulu for food or coffee it's in Seminyak. Access to the hotel is via a somewhat dodgy alley way which was initially a bit intimidating as there were always people hanging around there try to sell goods or offering transport. However I soon realised this is very common in Legian. If I was to go back to Bali I'd definitely book somewhere in Seminyak it's much more relaxing.

“Great location and you get what you pay for..”

Cheap hotel and no wonder. Facilities (room, pool) great, location also, but staff slow and not very helpful. Asked for taxi to airport and luckily intercepted that they were going to book the private hotel car at double the price.

“Good location”

The White Rose, the location is great right in the heart of the shopping and the night life. It can get a bit noisy at night with the night clubs being next door. We found that the bathroom need renovation, it had a sewage smell, and needed a good clean, with mould on the tiles. The grouting on the tiles were coming off and the ventalation was poor. The rooms was big, the tv was very small, the fridge was not very cold, it took a day to get the drinks cold. The breakfast was extremely satisfying. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. Overall the hotel really needs refurbishing it seems quite run down, but it's in a good location.

“3 * hotel, needs new linen/towels-not 4 families”

The hotel has a great location, just steps from Bali bombing Memorial and all the night clubs. The pool is nice and well maintained, staff is quite helpfull. Breakfast is simple but enough to keep you going. Hotel offers several trips but drivers can try to do a small business on the side (for example - there is a set price for 5-6h driving but the drivers don't want to take you to multiply locations, unless you will pay extra for the fuel, which is not in the official deal# The HUGE TURN OFF is the cleanless of the rooms. The housekeeping staff is trying their best, but they are bringing every day DIRTY/FILTHY BED LINEN AND TOWELS #full of stains of all colours and unknown origin#. Thy are just disgusting and impossible to use, even though they are washed. The hotel should definitely invest in the new towels and bed linen, specially that cotton is soo cheap in Indonesia. Hotel offers airport pick-up for around 19 US$, but the drop off by the hotel car only costs you 8 US$. Local taxi will charge around 6-7 US$, so just get a taxi to get into the hotel - everyone knows where it is and eventually hotel drop off services at the end of your stay. Just a 10-15 min taxi ride #around 3 US$) will take you to the beach. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the family with kids, as the proximity of the night clubs makes sleeping sometimes impossible, not to mention in-rooms parties. Overall - its a 3 star hotel which definitely needs new stock of linen/towels. The rest is OK.

“Great Location but shame about the condition/smell of the room”

As I said great location straight onto Legian St.I took my 18year old daughter for a girls w'end and stayed 3nts here. But unfortunatly the room has let us down.Luckily it was only 3nts I have been to Bali many times and stayed in differant hotels this was my first in The White Rose Hotel,The grounds looked good while we had to wait 2hrs untill check in at 2pm.Security staff were very friendly every and any time you came through the gate. Every time we entered our room there was a mouldy/toilet smell that even our good old Balinese friend of 20 years commented on and went straight to the balcony door to open for fresh air. The walls had dirty black marks in places you would of thought people couldnt reach, also the room across from ours we could here them talking and coughing as they would arrive back drunk usually around 4am and be quite loud not considering our door was approx 1metre away. Our bathroom had mouldy black marks on tiles and shower curtain was filthy, exhaust fan was not really powerfull enough to extract anything and the balcony door had a gap when closed so i pushed the curtain up against it with a chair to keep the mozzies out.On a good note the breakfast was great as usuall in Bali. It was a real shame as a few friends had recomended this hotel to us so maybe the hotel have a variety of rooms and we got one of the bad ones.I would say overall its"JUST" a 2 star hotel maybe we had bad luck so look around for same price hotels and read reviews. Good Luck
