Wailea-Makena Mountain Holidays

The Royal Lahaina Resorts & Bungalow was a perfect stay after site seeing all day on the island. The staff was accommodating and the room was just what I needed to relax. To watch the sunrise from the lanai was the best way to wake up after sleeping in the luxury bed. I would love to return to visit the bungalows with my kids very soon.

Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The view from our terrace was spectacular. We will be back!

Yes it's secluded. Yes it is a large property that requires a lot of walking. The rooms are slightly dated. It's all made up by the attention and care from the staff at the Ritz. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon. We were treated with the utmost care from the kind folks there. The property is well manicured and clean. The pools were fun and the golf cart ride for the long walk to the beach is a must. Unfortunately we left with a slight sour note at the end of the trip. I left my Nike Dri-Fit hoodie in the armoire the entire time during my stay... Never took it out, and only had it there for the weather back home. Although it was my mistake, I left my sweater behind. I contacted the hotel an hour after I checked out. And somehow, the staff "did not locate" the sweater. It was frustrating to have to keep asking for updates for a sweater. Until lost and found finally admitted they didn't find a sweater.

We stayed in Villa 99-5. . To sum it up quickly, the price to experience was in our opinion way too high. Also as a member an elite member, I did not get the discounts on the Cabana rentals and beach chair. The restaurant staff and food was very good. For the price we believe that there should be more comps than provided. Also on checking out the elevator was not working to allow the upstairs to bring their luggage down conveniently. The other complaint which was an ongoing complaint was the TVs not that you need to watch him when you're on such a beautiful island but if kids were staying they would need some entertainment at the evening I would believe. Again the cost to the experience was too expensive. For what you got. I would look at other opportunities or options for lodging where there was more bang for the buck.
