We had a comfortable stay at Ramada Shoal Bay, but overall I don’t feel it was worth the price we paid. The property feels very dated and seems caught between being a serviced apartment and a hotel, without fully delivering the benefits of either. We stayed in a Waterfront Deluxe View Apartment, and while there was definitely a water view, it was partially obstructed by older buildings, so the “waterfront deluxe” description felt a little generous. For an apartment-style property, I was surprised there was no dishwasher, washing machine or dryer. Rooms also aren’t cleaned daily, although staff were available to assist with requests, including at night, which was appreciated. Some smaller details also made the stay feel less polished. There was an open rubbish bin in the living room without a lid and no spare bin liners provided. The spa and indoor pool area were very good and one of the highlights. The gaming room experience was particularly frustrating. Access required sitting through a 15-minute Club Wyndham presentation. A staff member came to our apartment with an iPad for the presentation, but it wasn’t even charged, so I had to provide a charger. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but for the price, I expected a more modern property, better apartment facilities and a more polished experience. The location and pool/spa facilities are positives, but the dated rooms and lack of basic amenities make it difficult to consider it good value.

We hired the budget cabin. It was well presented and the double bed was comfortable. The only negative is the bunk beds were tiny. We had our 12 year old who is not on the tall side and he just fit in the bed. The resort had lots of options for kids, and the staff were very nice. A great place for families.
