The apartment was great: cleanliness, location, view, amenities, parking etc. But I would never stay there again and this is why. Outside the apartment, at the elevators and in the corridors, there was a terrible, foul odour, eminating from the rubbish shoot, for the entire stay. The odour even came in to the apartment if we went near the front door, so we had to stuff a mat and towels against the bottom of the door.
To make matters worse, I reported this offensive and putrid stench to the Hilton staff (concierge and security manager) 3 times, and each time they played dumb and made out like they didn't know anything about it. Some days the stink seemed worse than the previous day.
It turns out that residents and guests throughout the building, on multiple floors, in the elevators, the corridors, at the pool, were discussing the disgusting smell amongst themselves (and with me), with many others making complaints to the Hilton staff and some moving rooms to higher floors in a bid to get away from it. According to some guests who had stayed there previously, this is a common and well known issue with this building. And the Hilton staff plays dumb about it and does nothing about it, pretending that it's the first time they've heard the complaint every time.
Great apartment, great everything. But I will never stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone else. There are plenty of other buildings in Surfers Paradise.

This was a standard mid range apartment. Dated, but clean.
Good things were the undercover parking, spacious apartment, nice balcony, laundry with clothes airer and drier, dedicated internet modem, and very friendly reception.
Downsides were reception only available 2-5pm - frustrating when trying to contact them the morning of our arrival. Some minor inconveniences - e.g. no oven mitts so makes it very dangerous to actually cook with the oven. Only enough supplies for a one night stay, when we booked a 3 night stay (i.e. the tiny hotel toiletries, dishwashing liquid, coffee pods). Would be better if they transitioned to using fixed full size soap, shampoo, etc like most other accomodation is doing these days. Also a bit steep to charge another $2 per coffee pod, $5 to hire a beach/pool towel (who has the luggage space to travel with a towel). And a warning to clean, dry and put away dishes and empty dishwasher prior to departure, or they will charge a $50 fee. Not really practical. Most places I've stayed are fine for you to turn on the dishwasher before checkout.
However the main reason i would never stay here again is the lack of soundproofing between apartments (being awoken before 5am by pounding noises and yelling coming from the apartment above), the air con unit that sounds like an aircraft is landing in the living room, and the terrible vertical blinds that block zero light in the morning.

The good: Location - my villa was surrounded by rainforest. It was quiet inside with doors and windows closed, but you could enjoy the sights and sounds on the balcony, with 2 chairs and a lounger. Villa was nicely appointed and large. Liked that there was a fridge, m/wave, toaster, kettle, plates, glasses cutlery etc for 2. Also the fireplace would be nice in winter
Other nice inclusions: insect repellant, insect coils, large flashlight, robes, slippers.
The bad: No wifi. Listing said 32in TV with premium channels. TV was actually larger, but premium channels are only available if you have your own wifi service and subscriptions.
I am travelling on limited international plan so this was an issue. There was supposed to be free over-air TV channels, but these did not work (‘no signal’ message.
Plantation shutter on windows were good to keep out light, but there are 2 large windows above the sliding doors with no cover so room was ‘light’ at 5 am.
Checkin/out: When I arrived, reception was open but not staffed. Waited 15 and then called a mobile number shown on a note there. For checkout, it was locked up. Tried calling, went to voicemail which said it was full. Tried texting, no response. Ended up returning to villa and leaving keys there. Wish there were clearer instructions on what to do.
No room servicing: Supposed to be daily cleaning etc, but no one came to me room. Fortunately, I was only there 2 days but still.
