The location, staff, and everything about the Alex Hotel was perfect. Only negative factor was the nearby bar with live band playing late into the night. The hotel did provide earplugs.

Not the easiest of place to find at first as we did not have a car. But once you knew how to get to the property then it was easy.
The Spanish lady on reception was very helpful and the appartement was very clean.
My wife tried the swimming pool but she was not impressed.
The apartment is well situated being close to the CBD, the Elisabeth Quay and the main bus and train station.
It is at the back of the exhibition centre so I assume could be quite busy and noisy when sormething is on.When we were there, there wasn't anything on so it was very quiet.
The apartment was well equipped.
Overall I do recommend this place.

Renovations to pool and lobby still underway March 2026. Ocean view room was nice and very spacious, looked like the photos. Rooms and finishes not as high quality as other nicer hotels I’ve stayed at but didn’t feel dirty although could definitely use a deep clean and refresh.
Otherwise nice direct access to beach and bars restaurants etc. still seems to be best hotel on the beach so would stay again after renos complete.
