One has to check in at an adjoining hotel but the information from expedia does not say this. Room had no number on door so finding correct room was hard. Room tiny with shared bathroom and lavatory on landing. WIFI was impossible to use requiring a photo of a qr card. I gave up after 30 minutes. There was only one usable electrical plug in the room. For the price this place was poor value and is not recommended.

Hotel Alpina is in walking distance of the train station and multiple restaurants and stores, which is convenient. You have to walk on a path off of the street to get there, and I was impressed with how well-lit it was. Unfortunately the hotel itself does not have customer service or a check in desk - we checked in and checked out at the hotel across from it (Hotel Tannenhof), but they make that clear in the check in instructions. This is a good mid-range hotel in Zermatt, surrounded by much more expensive hotels, but still safe/clean and in close proximity to whatever you may want to do in Zermatt. It was suitable for a short stay. The beds are not incredibly comfortable but the hotel is good overall.

Great hotel! I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom, we even had a balcony. Feels like staying at your grandparents cabin on Christmas… also very central and close to everything!

For a two or three star hotel, this hotel does the job and ranks well with the rating. It has all the functions you need. My room was a cozy cabin looking room. It a 7 minutes walk from the train station and is located nicely with the shopping and restuarnts. For the price it is worth it.

The place is great for in and out skiing. Very warm and cozy, would recommend for just sleeping. Not much of room inside very small but feasible.

The room was very nice, not huge but enough for a few nights. Nice swiss chalet/log cabin feel with all wooden interior in the room. Good ensuite and nice shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very warm and turning the radiator right down never fully turned it off so we slept with the window cracked open - which in January at -7 (overnight) outside isn't ideal from a heating/energy use perspective.
