IMPORTANT: We do not accept third party bookings. The person whose name is on the reservation must be staying at the property.
We no longer accept dogs, no exceptions.
INTERNET AND CELL SERVICE: Please note that we do not have wifi OR satellite TV (though we do have an extensive DVD library), because trees around the house block satellite reception from the South sky. There is spotty cell service in Yosemite West. There is free wifi available in Yosemite Valley at Degnan's Kitchen, and there are computers with wifi at the libraries in Yosemite Valley and Wawona. If you need wifi during your stay, please see our other vacation cabins in Yosemite West (Hummingbird Raven House, VRBO 94764) or in Wawona (Hummingbird Pika House, VRBO 1156877).
Pricing is $475.00 base price for up to 4 guests. $40.00 per night for each additional guest per night after the first 4 guests. Children age 3 and under stay for free. 10% discount on one week stays. County tax is 13.5%. Minimum stay 2 nights.
The Hummingbird Pines House is one of very few vacation homes in Yosemite West with only two stairs into the house, making it ideal for guests of all ages. Please note: we cannot have wheelchairs or walkers in our house as they damage the floors. Our other house in Yosemite West is Hummingbird Raven House, listing #94764.
If our cabin and Yosemite are accessible, we do not cancel, modify, or refund reservations based on smoke, which is a very common occurrence in Yosemite each summer. This policy is consistent with other vacation rentals in Yosemite West.
Yosemite West is inside Yosemite National Park. It is a 25-35 minutes drive to Yosemite Valley attractions, 30 minutes to Glacier Point and 30 minutes to Mariposa Grove and Wawona. This is also the closest lodging for Badger Pass Ski Area, with downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing - only eight miles away from your door.
This Yosemite West home is located close to the Glacier Point Road, so you are very close to Taft Point and Glacier Point, the most spectacular views of Yosemite Valley.
This house sleeps a maximum of 8-10 people. We cannot accommodate more than 10 guests.
Up to 2 children under age 3 stay free, 10% discount on one week stays. (Please let us know if any of your children are aged 3 and under when you fill out the inquiry form.)
The upstairs master bedroom has a king size bed and bath. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. We have an upstairs loft area with two single beds, and a fold-out sofa bed in the downstairs living area which sleeps 2. All beds have comforters and pillows.
This house is equipped with a full kitchen and a large dining table. There is a bbq and dining furniture on the deck, which is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset.
Like most homes in Yosemite West, Hummingbird Pines House does not have air conditioning. We do have individual room fans. Our location is 6,000 feet elevation, so generally remains cooler than Yosemite Valley.

We had a wonderful time! We did puzzles on the large dining room table, watched a DVD movie, made great meals in the kitchen. The place was very comfortable and warm (it snowed just before our arrival). There was some rain so we were very appreciative of the covered parking spot. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area.
Away from the madness of crowds in Yosemite Valley (but close enough to get to hikes in the early morning), very close to Glacier Point (we went for sunrise multiple times), this is a great spot to stay in Yosemite while mostly avoiding crowds.
The entrance from Fresno also had no lines whatsoever when we entered (as did Tioga Pass on the day we went to Mono Lake).
Note: there is no TV or Wifi or cell service at this location - which my family really enjoyed!
Our family had an incredible vacation in this property. It was spacious for our family of 4 to spread out. We were there during the heat wave so it was a little warm with only the fans, but it was doable!
Great property to get to all locations within the park and we had no trouble finding it with our gps as long as the directions were input prior to entering the park when we had wifi. We stopped at Mar-Val per our contact's feedback to stock up on groceries prior to entering the park, it was a great tip. We picked up some extra ice the next day after hiking one of the trails at a local market near the parking lot. Great location and tons of space!

Very worn
While the location was excellent, the property is very worn. Carpeting is caked with years of dirt. Sheets are thin and ripped. Towels need to be replaced.
Comfortable family home in need of some updating …. old appliances, old kitchen and bathrooms. As we walked around the neighborhood we saw many homes with satellite dishes that had obvious internet connectivity. We understand that is probably expensive, but at the price we paid for only two nights not in season, we feel internet access should have been provided.

Spring in Yosemite
The location saved us lots of "waiting in line time" by being within the park entry gate. ( It is in a neighborhood, not secluded) The photos of the house living room do not do it justice - it has lots of wood and beautiful vaulted ceilings. However the showers are a blast from the past and their doors need replacing. The carpet, oven, and microwave were the nastiest I have ever seen! It is not housekeeping's fault - they old appliances need to be thrown away! Your mother and VRBO would be ashamed... This home has great potential for a wonderful getaway; it just needs some TLC.
The house is dated but clean, with a fantastic location and a beautiful deck overlooking the back of the property. Staying inside Yosemite National Park made it easy to hit the trailheads early each morning. While the home shows its age, it’s cozy and inviting, stocked with games, puzzles, and essentials—perfect for relaxing and unplugging after a long day of hiking, especially with no WiFi to distract you.
We found the place was a great size for all of our family to stay. However, it did feel that the amenities were a bit bare bones and lack luster. The beds and living areas were comfortable and the deck was lovely. The proximity to the park was great, especially since we did not have to wait in line at the gate.
Our family of 4 (+ small dog) had a wonderful time visiting Yosemite and staying at the Hummingbird Pines House. Everything was perfect. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit!
This is a spacious, lovely home inside the park. We really enjoyed the location, quiet neighborhood, easy access to the park. Great communication with the hosts too. Comfy beds, good kitchen for meal prep, nice dining area. Would visit again.
Overall the stay was good. The kitchen was well stocked and the washer and dryer were great. Unfortunately, we weren’t use to the spiders that randomly showed up. Might be a thing of being in the woods.
Our family of five enjoyed our stay in this cabin just inside Yosemite! It was an idyllic retreat. Comfy beds, spacious common area, well-stocked kitchen supplies. Would definitely return!
We had an awesome trip to Yosemite and this cabin was perfect. We had a one year-old, a three year-old, two older grandparents and a small dog--- and everyone had a great stay! Easy accessibility, very clean, well set up, and in a beautiful location. Highly recommend!
If you don't want to stay in a tent cabin in Curry Village, why not enjoy a quiet, comfortable and warm cabin where you can cook a nice meal and sleep soundly before heading down the hill to beat the crowds to all the valley's best hikes?
