About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second-highest vertical-drop waterfall in Yosemite) and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! The history village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season, and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year-round riparian meadow wildlife viewing. Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is located entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the founding of the park as a national recreation area) and is located on the South Fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, on the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley. Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch, which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station. The Redwoods in Yosemite has over 110 vacation rental homes and is proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance of everything that Wawona has to offer, and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!

It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. The handle on the kitchen sink is loose, the hot tub was set for 96 degrees, and the sheets didn't go to the end of our bed, but otherwise everything was great. The hike to the waterfall nearby was really fun and we enjoyed the cozy blankets.
Excellent vacation rental. Perfect location for nearby hiking and touring for our hiking group. House was able to accommodate 12 of us. The kitchen was very well stocked with every imaginable need. Very quiet house/neighborhood. Great outdoor seating for dinner and relaxing. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was great! Hot tub was great after a long day of hiking. Clean towels were delivered promptly even in the evening. Would definitely come here again.
We enjoyed our stay! The home was well maintained and plenty of space. The location inside Yosemite saved time driving. The Wawona area has a store and gas station near the cabin. Close to Mariposa grove and the Grizzly Giant Tree. A little longer ride, about 20 miles to the tunnel view of Yosemite Valley. Overall experience was excellent!
We loved everything about this stay. The property is uniquely located in Yosemite National park, getting to the Central Valley only takes about 45 mins by car. The house has everything you need and allows you to unwind after spending the day outdoors.
We had a group of 8 adults and 4 children and it was a great space for us to have as our home base. Everything was clean and the upstairs game room gave us plenty of space to spread out. Also beautiful long porch out back!
Great house. Good location. Kitchen could be better equipped with some everyday spices. Paper towels. Napkins. Adequate coffee filters. Small things that you expect to be there. Our propane tank was empty when we went to barbecue. Should have been checked. They replaced it the next day. All in all lots of room for all of us. We had a great time. Thank you…

Great location
Miller’s Landing was ideally located near Mariposa Grove, and a 45 minute drive to most Yosemite attractions. The house was nice and large and easily accommodated all 10 of us. The kitchen had every imaginable piece of equipment. however, the house needs some attention. also, more towels should have been provided; there were no beach towels despite the fact that there’s a hot tub.
There were three ladies in our party -- all in our 70's. We were delighted to have everything we needed on one floor and a full bathroom for each of us. I've never seen a better stocked kitchen. I wish I had realized before I went and I would not have bothered to bring so much of my own equipment. Also, I had been told there were. no hair dryers, but there was one mounted in each of the bathrooms. Everything from towel hooks to porch furniture was well-thought out and perfect for us.
We recently stayed at this home in Wawona and had plenty of space for everyone (two families). We loved the hot tub at night and in the mornings, and the kitchen was fully stocked to make full breakfasts and dinners for our group. Two tips: bring your own spices and oils, and put a pillow between the headboard and the wall in the first bedroom (see other reviews as well regarding broken/noisy frame and headboard). For management, the bed frame/headboard in the first bedroom needs to be fixed, the comforter in the front bedroom was visibly dirty so we put it on the floor and used extra blankets, extra towels would be beneficial in the kitchen, and there should be extra towels for the hot tub and in each bathroom. Other than that, we loved everything about this house and its location!

Great house!
I stayed in this house with 8 friends and we loved it! The house is very spacious and located right across from a market which was a nice perk. The deck is huge and the hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking! The house is located close to the Wawona hotel which has a restaurant that we had dinner at one night. Its about a 45 min drive to the Valley Floor, Half Dome Village (which has a food court and many food options) and the Half Dome and Yosemite Falls trails. Its only a few miles from the entrance to the park. All in all, we would definitely stay at this house again. The only down side was that you have to bring your own paper towels, etc. We were given 2 trashbags for 3 days which was also slightly annoying but you can get more from the office if the office is open when you request them. I would recommend this house!
This was an amazing location. Hiking nearby, short drive to Valley. Stream very close with amazing photo opportunities. Clean and open space for party of 6. Bed in first bedroom super squeaky, had to move to loft area for 4 of the nights. Mattress or bed frame is the problem recommend to replace or fix. Heating and air was broken and we were unable to let service in on Friday as we were not there and had too many items in house that should not be accessible to others so went without for 5 days. They would not work on the weekend. Luckily we come from the mountains so it was bearable in the cold house. Just opened up during the day to let some warmer air in. Some recommendations made to management company on repairs that were needed. The kitchen is stocked extremely well. The rental management company staff were very pleasant.
We had 4 adult couples staying here for a week and it worked out great. The large kitchen/dining room/living room was perfect for cooking, playing games, watching tv and lounging between trips to Mariposa Grove, the Valley and other spots in the park. We did not use the loft area much except that one person moved up to the futon for a quieter sleep area. It could be a great space for younger kids and teens wanting hang-out space. We had a couple of comfort/technology issues which did not diminish the 5* rating but I will mention here. The tv & remote instructions need to be updated. We had some trouble accessing network channels and figuring out Dish & other options. A few more dish towels in the kitchen would be great--we only found two. The bed frame in the Q room closest to living room was super squeaky. These are FYI items none of which diminished the fun of our gathering. We had a great time.
Trust your navigation system to find the property, especially in dim light. Street signs are not uniform and a little hard to see. Would have liked a tutorial on the dishwasher, couldn’t tell if we set it correctly or if it was on. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place for a family reunion. Our east coast family loved the rustic vibe and location to Yosemite can’t be any better!
This house is perfect for large families. Driveway can probably fit 3-4 vehicles. Lots of space to spread out. Kitchen is well equipped. 3 full bathrooms is nice. Enjoyed the Large deck with spa and gas bbq amongst the redwoods. Dirt trail leads to river not far from house. Approximately 35 -40 minutes to Yosemite valley to check out water falls and half dome. We traveled approx 4 hours and the check in time was delayed. A little frustrating especially since check out is 10 am. All in all this house won’t disappoint.
we had so much fun! this place has it all. it was close enough to some trails without having to drive. our young adult boys found a perfect swimming hole that was in walking distance. the house was perfect! we can't wait to come back! everything was so nice and cozy. I couldn't ask for anything more.
very nice accommodations for 4 couples. Well equipped kitchen, large fridge. Lots of space so everyone can spread out. The office had more hand soap, dishwasher soap, and trash bags when we needed more. You do have to bring your own laundry pods and paper towels. We took extra food items to office instead of throwing it out.
Miller’s landing was perfect for our group hiking trip to Yosemite . The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate our group of 10. Very clean . We did a lot of cooking in the well equipped kitchen and at night enjoyed watching movies in front of the fireplace. The multiple remote controls were seriously confusing but we figured it out . We had a plumbing issue (water leak) while we were there that was handled very promptly by maintenance. A simple thing but bring your own paper towels if you think you will need them (not provided). The drive to the valley floor from Wawona is beautiful and we liked staying away from the crowds. Yosemite has been injured from storms , wild fires and drought but is still majestically beautiful. We would stay at Miller’s landing again .
This was a great find for our stay with one other family. Rooms were comfortable and the kitchen, loft playroom, and deck were great too. The management staff was helpful the entire time when the grill ran out of propane. The property is about 45 minutes from Yosemite and 10 minutes from Mariposa Grove, both of which are amazing. Also can walk to a river from the back of the property. Overall a great location since you are in the park still. I would bring a lot of the food but the market does have the essentials. Overall a great option to do Yosemite with another family.
Wonderful property to share with extended family. Plenty of room for all to spread out and enjoy. Short walk down the path to the river to Wade and raft. Excellent hiking right in the neighborhood, not to mention the remainder of the park. Home was spotlessly cleaned and in good repair. Furniture and beds comfortable. With no restaurants available it was great to have such a well appointed kitchen and huge table with plenty of chairs. Hope to come again next year!
