About this property
Inside Yosemite N.P. Gates!, the Lodgepole Room is Minutes From the Valley.
THE LODGEPOLE ROOM AT THE YOSEMITE PEREGRINE LODGE
The Lodgepole room will delight and enchant you with its southwest decor. This room is located at the Peregrine Lodge in Yosemite West just 20 minutes from the valley floor.
Each of our rooms has a private entrance with private shower & bathroom, outdoor deck, custom gas fireplaces, and more.
Please note, we are not a bed and breakfast.
For those of you who love the winter in Yosemite, you will love the easy access to snow and snow activities. We are only 20 minutes by car to the Badger Pass Ski Area for cross country, snow shoeing, snow play, and downhill skiing. On large storms, cross country ski right out from the lodge.
At just over 6000 feet, our lodge will get more snow than the Valley itself. If you want to have a higher probability of being in the snow, you will want to be in Yosemite West.
The benefits of staying at our home inside Yosemite National Park are many. By actually being inside the National Park gates, you avoid the long lines going in and out of the entrance stations.
Returning from a day of rigorous hiking and sauntering in the valley? Ice skating at Curry Village? Cross country skiing on our groomed and un-groomed trails? or Down hill skiing at the local ski resort? You will be happy to know home is just a short drive away.
We offer a clean, well maintained lodge that is the ideal home base for your Yosemite experience. Please, no smoking, no pets.
ATTRACTIONS AND DISTANCES
The distance from Yosemite West to famous landmarks are: Badger Pass Ski Area 6.5 miles (10,5 km), Tunnel View 8.3 miles (13,4 km), Bridalveil Falls 9.8 miles (15,8 km), Wawona Hotel 12.4 miles (20 km), The Ahwahnee Hotel 15.9 miles (25,6 km), Glacier Point 16.2 miles (26 km) and El Portal 21.7 miles (35 km).
THE LODGE
The Yosemite Peregrine Lodge is a multi-level 3200 square foot home. We offer the entire home as a vacation rental between April 1 and December 31 each year. During this time the lodge is suitable for couples, families and executive retreats for up to 8 people.
During the winter months, from January until the end of March, the three bedrooms are rented out individually.
Unusual for most homes in the Yosemite West community, the Peregrine Lodge is situated on a rather level area. This means you do not have to negotiate the steep stairs that earmark many houses.
Entering the home through a door on the same level as the parking, you will find easy access to the lodge and our guest rooms.
PARKING
We have guest parking for 3 midsize vehicles in driveway. We cannot accommodate RVs in the winter due to snow and ice conditions.
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS
Each bedroom has both interior and exterior entries. They each have their own sink and shower, entry to their own private deck area, and a unique and beautiful floor to ceiling fireplace. One of the bedrooms, the Dogwood Room, even has a jet tub.
Our unique and cozy rooms are thematic in nature. The Peregrine Lodge is regarded as a quiet escape and romantic getaway for most of our guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for children under 14. Persons who are not registered guests are not permitted on the property.
LODGEPOLE ROOM:* Lodgepole furniture and a queen size bed, floor to ceiling fireplace with touches of native american art, and more.
ASPEN ROOM:* This room has our king size bed. The rock fireplace also features aspen trees, thematic art and more.
DOGWOOD ROOM:* Our largest room with a queen bed, custom rock fireplace featuring Dogwood trees, thematic art, and more.
* Please note we have a max occupancy of 2 persons per room.
LIVING
The main floor is closed to visitors between January 1 and April 1 each year.
There are no laundry facilities at the lodge.
EATING
We provide an electric water boiler, coffee pot with coffee and tea, sugar and creamer. There is small refrigerator in the room for snacks. There is absolutely no cooking allowed in the rooms. Hot pans, electric skillets, or other means of cooking stoves or appliance are not allowed. There is a small microwave in the shared lobby.
There are markets, cafeterias, coffee shops and restaurants located in the valley just 20 minutes away by car from the lodge.
HOME ENTERTAINMENT
We provide satellite TV and DVD players in each bedroom. There are also books and board games available.
INTERNET AVAILABILITY
WiFi is provided to our guests. The access and password are located in the guest notebook in each bedroom. We have Starlink internet which is very reliable.

This is an unforgettable stay at the Lodge , it was clean and just perfect for us, it is quiet and we love the patio! Vonnie, the host was really great to guide us.
Vonnie was so welcoming and accommodating from the start. We ended up booking extra days in the Lodgepole Room because we enjoyed ourselves so much. The view was lovely, the room was cozy, and had everything you might need. Definitely will be back!
Great studio place to stay and had everything you need. About 20 minutes from the valley. We were there to try to watch firefall but the weather didn't cooperate

Very nice location inside the gates of Yosemite. It is about 8 miles to Tunnel View, which made it a nice easy early morning drive to try for sunrise photos.
Nice hot shower and warm nice bed were welcome changes from the few nights of camping earlier in my trip.
Nice deck to relax on and recharge with a coffee while downloading photos from the Firefall in Feb 2025.

Unique property in a beautiful area. Room with private bathroom, fireplace, comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave, easy off street parking on level ground. Most places in YosemiteWest have a long stretch of steep stairs to enter, but Peregrine Lodge has covered entry door into lobby at ground level. WiFi works well, and room was stocked with snacks and coffee. Half mile to the trunoff for Badger Pass and Glacier Point; about 15 minutes to Tunnel View. Highly recommend either one of the private rooms with private bath between January and March, or the entire cabin between April and December.
This was the perfect spot for 2 people to spend the weekend! The lodge was quaint and quiet, which is just what we were looking for after a long day in the park. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ve already talked about coming back!

Liked: Cleanliness
It was a good location, between two areas of the park we wanted to visit. It was pleasant, clean, and everything worked. The first night, we had people in the room next door with a loud tv up late, but it was quiet otherwise.
You should remember to take a screenshot when they give you the code of the doors because when you get there, there is no service and the messages of the app don't open.
The water was White but they left lots of small water bottles.
Everything very clean and combortable.
Very nice fireplace and balcony.
Appreciated a lot the snacks for breakfast.
Beautiful place to stay, very clean, comfy bed, loved the balcony. The dvd library was a nice touch, and we really appreciated the snacks and coffee/tea setup. 10/10 would stay again!
First of all, I would recommend to anyone to book at
Peregrine Lodge from the informative and speedy responses from Vonnie. Any questions I had were responded to within an hour or two from sending.
The lodge itself has many pluses as well! The pass-code to enter the main lodge and then my private room made things seamless after arriving late in the day after exploring Yosemite Valley. The room was very cozy with just the essential amenities. everything was clean and ready for us. Most importantly the bed was comfy and the balcony view was perfect to sit back and sip a beer after hiking all day.
The proximity to Badger Pass ski area and Yosemite Valley while maintaining a quiet neighborhood (We stayed in winter time so i dont know what summer is like)made this the perfect location to stay in Yosemite while avoiding the high prices and crazy busyness of the actual Valley.
The location of this property was very convenient for spending a few days in the national park. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The view from the deck and the wood fireplace in the room were a great bonus.
My girlfriend and I only stayed 2 nights at Peregrine in the lodge pole room, but I wish we had time to stay longer. It was a wonderful experience and Vonnie is super helpful and responsive. The room is cozy with a real cabin feel with tasteful NWestern touches and the the fireplace was amazing, we took full advantage of it.
A very comfortable room to stay in with a big bed.
Yosemite west is a short beautiful drive to the Yosemite valley down along Wawona Rd, where you’ll pass the famous lookout below Yosemite tunnel where you can see the most incredible vista on your way down to or on your way home from the valley - naturally sunset and sunrise are amazing times to stop at this lookout.
Would love to stay again one day.
Loved staying here for the weekend. Cute room in an amazing location. Check-in/Check-out was super easy and hosts were very responsive and helpful.
Will definitely be back :)
We were very lucky to have found Peregrine lodge and had the chance to stay there on our travels around the West Coast. Our only complaint was that we weren’t able to stay longer.
Vonnie was a lovely and helpful host and if we get the chance to come back to Yosemite we will definitely try and book there again.
We stayed in the lodgepole room and it was exactly as described, perfectly cozy and the most amazing water pressure in the shower. The location of the lodge is perfect, inside the park gates and about 20 min to the valley floor.
Vonnie is the greatest host! She was so warm and inviting, the lodge does end up feeling like your home away from home.
We will definitely be back!

Highly recommend this lovely cabin
A beautiful place to relax with stunning views and stars on a night. It is so clean and cosy I felt at home straight away. There are dvd’s to borrow. I can recommend the ones on Yosemite. David is an excellent host and has lots of helpful info on the park and upto date weather info before my arrival which he emailed me. This was great as the route I was planning to arrive on had closed due to a mud slide. The location is outstanding as the 30+ minute journey in to the valley is just stunning and different each time you drive it depending on the sky, sunlight, cloud and snow etc. I could have stayed at the majestic hotel but then I’d have missed getting the perspective of descending 2000ft and seeing tunnel view each day. I went to the Majestic hotel for meals which were wonderful but I’m so glad I didn’t stay there.

Perfect Cozy Cabin nestled in Yosemite woods
A truly wonderful experience from start to finish at the lodge. The location is great, away from touristy areas and central location to all Yosemite's beautiful attractions. Room was immaculately clean and cared for. Host has every detail sorted out: from check in, "valuable: What to see tips", to operating the fireplace, clear and easy to follow. The closest places for food are 20-30 mins away so plan meals accordingly. I'd highly recommend anyone looking for a quiet place to enjoy Yosemite stay at the lodge!
