charming little hidden gem

A little gem, a warm welcome, large bedroom, comfy bed, although fluffier pillows be a bonus as pillow's provided very flat. Room was warm and clean, 10 mins,walk to minster, free parking with disc provided by property. A really lovely breakfast and all at amazing value

Terrible Sleep and Broken Shower

After reading all the great reviews, my partner and I were extremely disappointed with our stay. Upon arrival, we were unsure how to enter the property. We rang the bell but there was no answer. After waiting in the rain, we rang the hotel who told us the code to enter. It was not made clear to us before arrival that this was the process. My partner and I both had a terrible sleep. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were very hard. We are in our 20s and had sore necks the next day. This then impacted the remainder of our trip as we were tired and sore the next day. In the morning, when I went to shower, I went to open the shower and the door fell off. This was clearly a known problem to the staff as upon inspection we found the hinges were not fully attached and the door had just been propped up. I dont feel this is acceptable, whilst we understand things break, we were not advised of this issue upon entering the room. We advised the breakfast staff of the issue. They were not suprised with our complaint and apologised as they walked off. We would not recommend this hotel at all.

Room was small but adequate. Bed was comfy. Toiletries provided,tissues would have been a nice touch. Plenty of hot water. Hosts friendly and a great choice for breakfast especially the hot food. Close to the centre,easy to walk to everything, quiet neighbourhood.

Lots to do in york . Many great bars . The ‘new york ‘ street food n bars complex well worth a visit . Lots of gluten free choice and very budget friendly. Visit the merchants house NT , and the Roman ghost road in the cellar . The museum’s etc all a bit pricey.

Great place to stay it’s quiet but within 10 min walk from city. Plenty to do and see lots of food choices I would definitely stay there again and if you like football York f.c is at end of road

Would definitely recommend!!

A very pleasant first trip to York. Very cosy hotel and lovely staff. Loved the breakfast menu, lots of choice and also includes vegetarian options. Located on a very quiet street and only a 5 minute walk away from the center.

Nice B & B in quiet part of the city

Excellent stay. Staff we very good and the breakfast was 1st class.Would thoroughly recommend it. Single room was small but was ok and good value for a quick stopover.

Personalen var trevliga och servicemindiga. Dock missade de att tömma en papperskorg på rummet en dag som innehöll bananskal. Dessutom hade jag velat haft påfyllning av enportionskaffe på rummet varje dag istället för varannan. Prisvärt och bra för den som inte har stora krav.

A cosy B&B in a good location.

I needed an overnight stay just to do a bit of sight-seeing and the B & B was close enough to walk to all the sights. My single room was very small but ample for my one night stay; it was cosy and had an en-suite bathroom, with a super shower, which was perfect. I had to fill in a breakfast sheet to indicate what I would like the following morning. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and I had plenty to eat.

York Guest House.

I had an enjoyable stay at the 34 Guest House. Having a single room, it was very small and tight, but very clean. The place was run well and had a lovely breakfast. It was about a ten-minute walk from the Minster and Station, not too bad.

I choose this BnB based on reviews. I was dissapointed. Room was quite unclean, tiny and narrow. Lots of Cobwebs, quite dusty, lots of hair everywhere, kettle was grimmy and the TV remote was horrid, it was thick with filth. Shower area had mould. Room was nothing like photos. Because its a single room they obviously neglect it. Breakfast was tasty but small portion. I made them aware of the hair, didnt even get an apology, so I didnt bother mentioning the other cleanliness issues. I won't stay here again on my next trip to York.

Convenient, price friendly and comfortable B & B

Great Christmas night away. B&B ideal for price, comfort, location and a lovely cooked breakfast. Bonus was, we parked right outside the door of the B&B.

The service is good, especially the staff who serve on breakfast time. The room just ok, its clean but the room looks old.
