A lovely place to stay, only a couple of minutes walk to the City. Room very clean, cosy and warm. Breakfast is very nice with plenty of options. Julie and Alan both wonderful people who cant do enough to make your stay the best. I will be booking this guest house again on my next stay in York. Highly recommended!

This is a great base for a trip to York. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the Minster and centre of the City. The railway station is just a 20 minutes walk away. The hosts Allan and Julie are so welcoming and friendly, taking time to chat to all the guests and on hand for assistance if ever needed. They serve up a great breakfast in the mornings with both a cooked breakfast and continental options available and plenty of choice of cereals and fruit. The room was warm and cosy with a comfortable bed. Everywhere is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend City Guest House for a stay in York.

A very pleasant, clean & comfortable place to stay just five minutes walk from the Minster & city centre. There is a homely feel to the place and the proprietors were both friendly & efficient. There was a good choice of breakfast items & the full English was superb. Would definitely stay here again.

Julie and Allan were incredible hosts! They were so personable and friendly and helped in any way we needed it. They made breakfasts to order and the room was comfortable and clean. The City Guest House is a perfect place to for a short stay. Julie and Alan the owners were very welcoming and we found our room comfortable, spotlessly clean. A very good breakfast and buffet kept us going for most of the day.

I want to give them the most stars i can give because this is what they deserve. The most amazing couple you will ever meet. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Everything was perfect, the breakfast, cleanliness, comfort and the hospitality. Every hotel, airbnb, need and breakfast should clone them and what they do.
