"Lovely building in quiet location. Room was clean and comfortable. The garden games were fun. Although there isn't a bar, as such, a good selection of drinks are kept in 'Mother Superior's' office and available via calling reception. There is no restaurant on site but there are restaurants nearby. Overall a pleasant stay. 5 stars would be achieved by offering breakfast even a continental type."

"Always 5-stars for the Alexander. Mike and Mrs Mike are very welcoming and nothing is a drama. Rooms are always clean and we love the views from the outside table/chairs (evening wine and snackies, while watching the variety of birds). We have been staying here for around 8 years and intend to keep on returning"

"Simple room for a quick stopover, staff had room ready for easy check in, room was organised so I could just come in and go to sleep. Basic amenities but did the job! "

"Beautiful studio granny flat. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. However, when booked (10months), there was a sofa bed, and when we arrived it had been broken by a previous holiday maker and not replaced. However, owners supplied a double self-inflating mattress which worked too."
