"Close proximity to the train station which was essential for our onward travel to Stansted . The staff were friendly , the rooms, although slightly dated , were spotless & the bed comfortable. The location was really pretty being on the River Stort . We made use of the onsite cafe / bar. then took an evening stroll along the river bank . It would have suited us to have breakfast in the cafe but it was closed the following morning for a deep clean , which just shows cleanliness of the place...

"I stay here regularly when visiting family. It’s clean, very quiet and the staff are lovely which is why I keep going back. The bar and dining room are good although I’ve only ever eaten breakfast here. It’s a bit tired, but inexpensive and the perfect location for me. I’ve also stayed with my dog on previous occasions which is wonderful. The gardens are beautiful in the summer too. "

"Had very comfortable and affordable stay whilst visiting family in Hitchin. Would definitely consider returning. All staff were very helpful. Left a couple of items in the room on leaving and these were cheerfully found and kept on reception for pick up. "
