"This hotel is close to the beach, but the rooms need upgrading. My shower was very old and falling apart. I wouldn’t stay here again, but I did like the complimentary breakfast and free parking. "

"Love the view, staff & food. Prefer a bath soap dispenser IN shower-not little tubes with nowhere to set them in the shower. The area is beautiful. This was our 2nd year at Sand Rose. We’ll be back next year! "

"The room was clean but very tired. The patio furniture wasn't in useable condition because of paint chips sticking to my skin. Also electrical wall outlet unuseable because entire casing protruded from wall. Patio use was a wash out. Overall the facility is quaint. Small. Grounds well maintained, clean and secure. Very good location. Be aware there is no elevator in any of the 3 story buildings. Adequate parking. Good pools. Staff is wonderful. I would recommend. "

"This place was amazing! You could hear the sounds of the surf from the balcony, watch the sunrise and drink coffee in the comfortable chairs outside. The inside was cozy and the kitchen well equipped to make dinner. The heated pool was surely inviting, but we never had the time to go for a swim. Lots of restaurants were within walking distance and the buffet breakfast next door was great. The birding center across the street was one of my favorite places to visit. Just walking on the beach collecting shells was relaxing and beautiful. We drove to the zoo in Brownsville, and it was once of the best we have visited, and I imagine after their new construction is finished, it will be even better. The hosts were very responsive to my questions and everything was wonderful. "
