An exceptional area to visit
You could have a lovely holiday here but keep your party to 6 maximum and don't use the attic room in summer!! The area is beautiful but the garden is surprisingly noisy as there is a lot of traffic through the village The three main bedrooms are super. The pool is well shaded and the outdoor dining area is good but cramped

Lovely property with everything you need for a relaxing holiday
We couldn't fault this property. Spotlessly clean and with everything you need including spacious kitchen, lounge and outside seating areas. Lovely bedrooms too. We were a party of 8 and had plenty of space. There are a good number of bathrooms and toilets too. Garden is lovely and pool is a good size and well maintained. Vieux is a small pretty town which in August at least has a weekly evening market on a Wednesday where you can buy local produce, wine and food. There is a town with bakery, well stocked shop, pharmacy etc about 3 miles away. A supermarket about 20 minutes away. There are lots of beautiful hilltop towns and villages (many with markets on certain days) to visit and wander around and Albi with it's stunning Cathedral is only half an hour away. Everything about the house is bigger than it looks in the pictures. None of us wanted to leave. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks for letting us stay!!

Beautiful house and gardens in peaceful village, would love to stay again!
My husband and I stayed here for a week with our three children and my parents as we were in the area for a family wedding and wanted a peaceful base for inbetween events. It was perfect, the house is beautiful and the gardens were stunning. We felt like we were in a fairytale! The children loved playing outside and also in the attic which they used as a playroom as it had plently of board games and toys to keep them entertained. Everything was perfectly clean (which is no mean feat in such an old house!) and the pool was spotless on our arrival. Check in and check out were nice and simple with a lockbox system, and communication with the owner was great throughout our stay. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need and there were plenty of towels and extra bedding etc. It was also very hamdy to have a washing machine during our stay. No phone signal (which is to be expected in this area) but WiFi available and English TV channels if required. There is a supermarket a short drive away and lots of lovely villages/towns to visit (by car) nearby if you wish to eat out. The locals were very welcoming, offering helpful advice and friendly conversation. We would 100% recommend staying here and hope to do so ourselves in the future!

Perfect Presbytery
Three generations of our family- aged from 2 to 62- spent a glorious eight days of fun and relaxation at Le Presbytere. The layout of the house was ideal, with interconnecting doors between bedrooms for parents and little ones, a large family living room and an abundance of en-suites. The house is absolutely full of character; the rooms are thoughtfully furnished and the new kitchen is well-equipped to the highest standard. Due to the glorious weather, we were able to make very good use of the pool, the garden , the terrace and the gas barbecue. We were able to buy delicious croissants and provisions each morning in Cahuzac-sur-Vere....usually followed by a coffee in the sun outside the Bar Tabac. In Vieux the Wednesday hot-food van, from 6pm to 10pm, is an unmissable event. Extra tables appear in the square and villagers gather together to chat, eat, drink and play pétanque....such a wonderful atmosphere. We loved it! We also enjoyed delicious takeaway pizzas made by the chef at Camping Le Soleil des Bastides, just outside Cahuzac. Our young granddaughters loved playing each evening on the swings near the car park, having a little walk with us around the safe and peaceful village and particularly enjoyed their little pony riding experience at La Burgue...the equestrian centre between Vieux and Le Verdier. The house is ideally located for visiting some stunning hilltop villages including Cordes sur Ciel, Puycelsi and...our favourite... Bruniquel. We also visited the town of Gaillac....only 10km away....which has a variety of shops, cafes and a Sunday market. We consider Le Presbytere to be a high-quality, characterful holiday home in a beautiful location and Deborah is a helpful and considerate host who strives to ensure her guests have the best holiday possible. We all made lots of happy memories during our holiday in Vieux and will, hopefully, return to this beautiful part of France sometime in the future.

Rural paradise
If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in a lovely comfortable house, in the beautiful french countryside, then the Presbyterian ticks all those boxes. The house was cool and spacious, with everything we needed. We all enjoyed the garden and the pool was very welcome in the heat! Vieux itself is very small, but beautiful. We will miss sitting in the square on an evening playing boule with some of the locals! Wednesday night was fun, with a food van coming to the square and lots of locals and other holidaymakers playing music and playing boules together. The nearby towns are all worth a visit, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Puycelci, Albi ,Castelnau-de-Montmiral to name a few. You definitely need a car as there is no public transport. The owners were extremely helpful and answered all my questions promptly. We definitely hope to return as it’s such a beautiful area and the house was perfect for us.

Wonderful stay
We loved staying at this house. It had everything we could possibly want, was very comfortable with some very thoughtful touches - it was amazing to stay in such a stunning piece of history! The garden is beautiful, we spent most of our evenings sitting under the veranda just enjoying the peace and quiet. It is ideally located for visiting the local area and there were a lot of ideas for visits in the house book. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Delightful French village stay
Our adult family of ten had a delightful one week holiday in this 15th century former presbytery, opposite a church on the village square. There were lots of places to visit and things to see in the region making this an excellent base. The Vieux village life included the Wednesday evening food truck, the Friday evening pétanque and for our stay their annual Vide Grenier (like a car boot sale but much bigger). The house has been modernised but as an older property not everything was perfect.

My third visit and two more planned already!
This is the third time I've visited and run a Mindfulness retreat here. The house is always welcoming, the garden and pool a delightful, the interior is homely and well-kept. The village is charming and the countryside so pleasing and full of life no matter what time of year you're here. Plus it's a perfect location for visiting all the stunning hillside towns in the area and both Albi and Toulouse are beautiful cities to amble around with plenty to see and do.
