Insufficiently clear that you must go to the Hotel Tiepolo to check in, get your key, and be escorted to the Piccolo Tiepolo which is nearby but very difficult to find and completely unsigned, unlit, and unmanned. My room on the ground floor was large but a bit cold and damp, lacking in towels, a chair, and charm. The shower cubicle leaked water all over the floor of the bathroom. Possibly other rooms are nicer. The staff, once I found them, were pleasant and helpful.
This was the absolute perfect place to stay and the staff was amazing! It's a little confusing at first because the rooms are separate from the hotel office, but once we got the hang of it, it was an incredibly easy, central location close to everything. The staff were so incredibly kind and helpful!! Would absolutely stay again!!
The service was outstanding and incredibly attentive and clean. I want to focus my review exclusively on the comfort of it, especially for other travelers since it's not easy to get to Venice. The hotel seems to be distributed throughout multiple buildings/area within a courtyard (Campo/Piazza). So when you arrive, you have to first find the lobby but that's not where your guestroom might be (as it was our case). Of course (like many places in Italy), our building didn't have an elevator, so consider all the steps to climb when booking. The guestroom was lovely and fit all of our needs, but the mattress was terrible. Even though it was clean and seemed somewhat new, it was hard as a rock and felt like I was on a plastic box instead of a comfortable mattress. I did bring it up to the staff the next day but they couldn't replace it. Please keep it in mind because our backs were destroyed. I usually prefer a firm mattress but this was the hardest ever, and all beds in the room were the same (my mother also complained about her back being hurt the next morning). We booked Venice as the last destination on our Italy trip so perhaps in the future, we'll spend the extra Euro for comfort.
Mosquitos in room, staff unfriendly, noisy, we were moved to another location and did not stay at the location we had booked, not secure, no interaction with hotel staff after check in.
We were placed in a nearby, brand-new apartment with two separate rooms. Please note that the building did not have an elevator, but the amenities within the room were awesome.
First you not gonna stay at the property as they advertise, after you make check and the payment they will take you to a long Walk to a old building where you going to stay, they don’t have towels, they provide some kind sheet as towel, the shower is super small, not bigger than 24x24 inches, the room didn’t had phone.
