"My son and I just wanted a night away - to spend time together and to check out the stars and planets with his new telescope. Hartsville did NOT disappoint! We had so much fun and literally ran out of time with all the great things in store. I felt like I was zapped back in time to the 1970's (or further!). The location was easy to find, safe to park and gain access, and from the get-go we simply enjoyed ourselves. We played pool - 8-ball and 9-ball, sifted through and played the many LP's from yesteryear. When the time was right we viewed the night sky on a moonless night. I haven't seen stars like that since our move from Michigan 8 years ago. Thank you to our wonderful hosts - allowing me to spend time with my son, and not have a worry in the world. We will be back. Guaranteed.PS - the star photos were taken w tripod, Canon DSLR and longer exposure (30 sec) and near full F-stop settings. The telescope was a 10” mirror celestron not set yet for photography but the views of nebula and other faraway places magnificent."

"Check in: easy, detailed instructions were provided; Erin came to meet us at our Yurt, super friendly, welcoming, kind. Yurt: very spacious and there were 4 of us and we could fit 3 or more people; beautiful craftsmanship (authentic Mongolian yurt & ropings are made from horse hair too) Amenities: clean & our yurt had all the cookware, utensils, plates, cups, coffee, nice & cool AC unit inside the yurt, gas bbq grill Beddings/towels: super comfy & cozy with sheets & pillows Toilet & shower: clean, outdoors & user friendly & right next to the yurt (no need to use the hot water due to May temps) Stargazing: Beautiful clear skies lots of stars to see & they seemed so much closer than seeing it in OC. Outdoors: quiet time by 930pm so for those who can get loud, has to get it all out before 930pm 🤭😂; there were a few flies if you’re eating at the picnic table so either get the fly swatter from inside the yurt or bring a zapper ⚡️ to kill them since it can get annoying & red ants do roam on the ground so just expect a couple here n there Overall: will go back again for sure for another stay, quiet, nice, cozy, peaceful, fun quality time with loved ones Thank you Erin!!! Joshua Tree Retreat | Private Pool, Gardens & Cave-Inspired Estate

"We had a wonderful stay at Villa dei Fiori and would absolutely recommend it for a unique Joshua Tree experience. The owner was very communicative, friendly, and welcoming. They gave us an exceptionally thorough tour on arrival, walking us through every detail of the property, which made it easy to settle in and fully enjoy our stay.The home itself is full of character, with interesting art throughout that adds personality. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The pool was a major highlight—beautiful, refreshing, and perfectly set among the desert landscape. It was exactly what we were hoping for and a great place to relax and take in the surroundings.The outdoor space is incredible, with rocks, caves to explore, and plenty of room to walk. We saw quail, lizards, kangaroo rats, and even a roadrunner (we were told the owner sometimes has treats for it, which was a fun touch).We brought our dogs and the property worked well for them, though there isn’t a fenced area for off-leash running. That said, we enjoyed walking them around the grounds.Overall, a peaceful, memorable stay with a great host—we would definitely come back."

"Stayed in a moonlit patio room. Pros: • private patio with a fire pit and two chairs • an outdoor mattress that can be used for stargazing • comfortable bed • amazing pour over coffee provided in the room • high quality toiletries provided Cons: • no iron/ironing board provided in the room • the floor was mildly dirty upon arrival • the door was really hard to close, had to use plenty of force • I think some covers need to be provided for the outdoor mattress because it was pretty dusty Some things to consider: • moonlit patio room is half of a shipping container so expect a very small room • expect to disconnect from technology as this room did not have a television, which I liked"
