"It was our first time visiting the Lake District, and our trip began with a stay at Cragwood Hotel. From the moment we checked in, the staff were so kind and helpful. To our surprise, they upgraded our room and even walked us there personally. The room was absolutely amazing—spacious, elegant, and felt almost like staying in a castle. We arrived at sunset, and when we opened the door, the view was breathtaking. It was such a peaceful, comfortable start to our trip, and really set the tone for a wonderful experience. We also had dinner at the hotel, which I would highly recommend. After checking in and relaxing, we went to the restaurant and were seated by the window. The dining area only had around five tables, which gave a sense of privacy and space between guests. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and even surprised us with an extra sorbet. The food was absolutely delicious—something we won’t forget."

"Hotel changed my room to a lodge due to health reasons as a last minute. Couldnt have been any more greatful. The views and grounds were stunning. The staff where great and attentive. Cleaner added extra coffee and milk for 2nd night which was also a great and tidied the room to a high standard. Room was dated, however this added to the overall experience of peace and tranquilitiy which is what i was looking for. ****Highly recommend this hotel and will be visiting again ***"

"The location is wonderul! Beautiful views, and very peaceful. If you don't have a car its a long walk up the hill from Windermere. I had everything I needed for a relaxied stay. Obviously this is a hostel so you can't account for other noisy guests, however there is a policy to meep the noise down between 11pm and 7am. Breakfast looked good although I brought my own. The guest kitchen is quite small but is well equipped. Evening meals looked nice, but again I'd brought my own. There are three small car parks and all were pretty much full, but guests still managed to park. The camp site is in a lovely field not far from the main building. I stayed in a shared female dorm."

"Loved out stay at this hotel and restaurant on our final day in the Lakes. We stayed in Scafell Pike with the only negative being the room was very hot (we stayed in late Aug). We would definitely stay there again. "
