"We stayed here for two nights to celebrate a birthday, having stayed here last year. It is a very convenient location for the buses into Ambleside and Keswick which we used to begin our walks up Wansfell Pike and around Derwentwater. Returning from these walks tired, we were greeted with a homely warm lodge with all the facilities we needed for those few days. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of hot water for the showers. "

"The staff were lovely The public toilets were very smelly. The rooms needed tlc especially bathrooms Horrendously uncomfortable bed and pillows. Strong smell of cleaning fluid"

"The location is wonderul! Beautiful views, and very peaceful. If you don't have a car its a long walk up the hill from Windermere. I had everything I needed for a relaxied stay. Obviously this is a hostel so you can't account for other noisy guests, however there is a policy to meep the noise down between 11pm and 7am. Breakfast looked good although I brought my own. The guest kitchen is quite small but is well equipped. Evening meals looked nice, but again I'd brought my own. There are three small car parks and all were pretty much full, but guests still managed to park. The camp site is in a lovely field not far from the main building. I stayed in a shared female dorm."
