We only stated a few hours as we needed a place to stay until the first train to Paris. It was very convenient to the station. The attendant was very helpful and even opened up the breakfast before officially opening to let us get some coffee. On the whole, my impression was that, while dated, it was quaint. The hotel was quiet and clean. Everything was very acceptable.

Family stay in the junior suite

Excellent stay, our junior suite was spacious, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The parking was difficult to find but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Although there was a lot of renovation work being carried out at the hotel, it was clean, the staff helpful, the bedroom and bathroom spacious providing a comfortable bed and lots of hot water in freezing weather.

This was a very convenient hotel close to the city centre for shops and restaurants. The underground parking was secure, is by the Train Station, & is conveniently right opposite the hotel.The hotel was comfortable, has large rooms and had a lovely large modern bathroom. There was also a superb terrace where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The down side was that our room directly faced a high building wall, so although it was a bright sunny day it was very dark. We had also booked this hotel because it stated there was a restaurant. However, this was not the case, although it did offer room service. Staff were pleasant.

We love a hotel with some history and charm. It’s a stone’s throw from the train station. After an overnight flight , followed by train travel, the location was a blessing ! We had a warm welcome and we were pleased with an unexpected upgrade for our room. Dining and shopping are close by. The bed was very comfortable. A great value !

Spacious rooms close to the Tours railway station.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of our suite - very unusual in Europe. We got a lot of space for our money. There were a few details that needed attending to, such as not quite enough light when the drapes were drawn, and old chairs that were uncomfortable (but there were a couple that were comfortable), but it was possible to block out early morning light, and this is an important feature when you want to sleep in. The bed was huge and comfortable. My husband used the sofa bed in the sitting room, and it did not quite work, but it was comfortable when he put the mattress on the floor! Do not be put off by whatever construction is slowly happening in the foyer, and the resulting peculiar approach to the lift. This looks as if it is temporary. While the Grand may not have on overall luxurious atmosphere as it likely had in its early years, it WAS very good value. We used the train a lot to go up and down the Loire Valley, and the location was excellent for that. The area around the station felt safe, so no need to be put off by the proximity to the station.
