"Check in was quick. Since i prepaid, i was handed the key. Staff did not request my credit card for incidentals. We had to walk through a series of fire doors (maybe 6?) and stairs to reach our first floor room. The room was small and worn. The bedding appeared dirty. The window was open a crack and could not be closed, so it was cold inside the room. I was able to turn up the heat so that was okay. The carpet was worn and thin. Bathroom was extremely cramped. The shower was very small and could use some caulk repairs. The shower had good pressure and nice hot water. It appeared that daily housekeeping did not do any cleaning aside from making the bed, emptying trash, and replacing towels. This was fine with me because it was a short stay and I kept things clean. Because the window was ajar, we heard workmen on the grounds starting fairly early in the morning. I did not visit the restaurant/bar. Overall, this stay was below average, but the location was perfect for my needs and the price was very low. "

"Lovely building, rooms and excellent service from staff. Spa good, but disappointed due to odorous water in outside hot tubs and excessive amount of foam and scum in the indoor hydro pool which put us off using the spa facilities due to concerns of cleanliness. A shame as everything else about our stay was exceptional. Complimentary room upgrade was appreciated although the shower tray was very slow to drain. The pantry room is a great idea and had a good selection of drinks and snacks to choose from. Walks suggested in the handy book in our room were well enjoyed. The Brasserie restaurant was excellent with a good menu and service was second to none - everyone was friendly and nothing was too much to ask. (N.B. Spa cleanliness was raised with reception at checkout)"

"Nice hotel, only issue was noise from generator/pump Whilst in room 148 which stopped at 11.30pm, apart from the noise the room was large with balcony and clean."

"Room was spotless, good hotel for a stop over. No shops nearby as you're on a business park. Food was not the best though, breakfast was over cooked and cold in most places."

"the Gray Manor Hotel and Wedding Venue: We got our room and after going into the room finding out the cleaners had not been in there. All the bed sheets and pillows were stained and there was hair all over the place. I went back to the reception to complain, and a man came out in his bathrobe with no shoes on and his chest hanging out; he had clearly just gotten out of bed. He eventually gave me another room, but this one was just as bad, with lipstick stains all over the headboard and a filthy bathroom. The rest of the night was an absolute disaster. There was a huge vibration noise coming from the taps and a constant beeping noise coming from the hallway that made it impossible to sleep. This place was a total nightmare and definitely not what you would expect from a hotel and wedding venue. I would not recommend staying here."

"2nd time at this hotel, but this time disappointing. We were in room 19 as we were travelling with our dog, which is a nice room, with a bathroom well suited to handicapped guests. All of which was fine. Sadly there was no heating and no hot water, so shower was very fast in the morning! Dinner… many things on the menu were unavailable due to a delivery problem and an upcoming new menu launch. Sadly what we did get was mediocre, and probably not great value. Breakfast… much better. Would I stay again, probably not. It is a nice hotel, but we just felt let down this time."
