"The staff were amazing throughout our stay. The family room feels outdated but is still spacious. Our AC wasn’t working but they were happy to move us to different room. The breakfast was nice, standard English breakfast items!"

"Great property and very helpful staff. It was a much needed break for my family and we made full use of the facilities, gym, pool, restaurants and spa (massage). We loved how the property took small details to accommodate for our family, which included kids size robes / slippers, welcome activity pack and snacks and key was separate individual sofa twin beds. My only comment is regarding the family pool times are limited so it does get congested during those allotted hours and especially during the weekends when families with annual resort passes attend, otherwise it was quite during our stay during normal school hours. Overall amazing stay."

"This hotel is obviously struggling and standards are slipping and corners being cut which is a shame as the building is a lovely example of victorian gothic."

"We left early so didn't have breakfast. Room was good and clean. Parking was easy. However the board displaying charges showed £3 for guest overnight parking, apparently this was increased last year to £5. Not a big deal but the sign should be updated."

"A lovely cottage in a quiet and peaceful setting. Everything had been thought of: the kitchen was well-equipped, there was an ironing board and iron, a seeing kit, a torch, spare fuses etc.The owner lives just behind and could not have been more helpful - on hand to answer any queries and very willing to explain the history of the cottage and places of interest to visit. I would recommend Commonwealth Cottage for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday."

The grounds were immaculate as well. I want to mention one of the staff, Kayla by name, for her superb customer service and help. Everyone there showed how much they valued their guests. We would highly recommend Thornbury Castle to anyone who wants a very memorable stay."
